The good: never quit.

The bad: sloppy and undisciplined.

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

Nice bounceback after last week. Impressive defensive showing in the 4th quarter.

Excited for the season.

Sloppy win. We were better 2nd half but still sloppy. D put a lot more pressure on their QB and played better D overall. Don't think APSU is very good, although they have fast WRs. Could easily lose the next 5 games unless we clean some stuff up. Lester looked better against a non-FBS D.

A win is a win, especially on the road. Will have to get better in a hurry against Incarnate Word. Maybe it's because they routed SIU a few years ago at their place, but I thought that was the scariest game on the nonconference schedule after accounting for BYU. Hope there's a good, noisy crowd to maximize the home-field advantage.

I love this board during games the sky is falling when the team is struggling and great win bring on the next game yes there are areas to clean up and I am sure this staff will address those areas also some of the penalties could be not adjusting to the officials but regardless a win is a win GO DAWGS

I had to watch the game on replay unfortunately. I think everyone has the same feeling (including coaches and players)…we didn’t play great yesterday, but still came away with a win on the road. I thought the offense struggled again this week despite the score. DJ has still not proved to me he can be an effective passer. He missed VD multiple times on overthrows with very little pressure. At least one of those likely goes for a TD. He’s got to get that figured out, b/c we can’t miss those against good teams. The bright side…those plays were there for the taking. I thought, minus the penalties, the line played pretty well. Good to see after a rough day against BYU. We are going to need a big game from the offense against UIW if we are going to win b/c they will score next week. Their QB looked the part against SDSU.

Defensively we were down quite a few guys so I’ll cut them a bit of slack (Greene, Bohanek, Hearns, and Conn) and they got better in the second half. They have to cut down on giving up so many big plays though. UIW will light us up. D-Line started to get some pressure, especially in the second half. Hopefully that continues next week and none of the injuries are serious.

A win on the road is big…now let’s win the next two at home!

Glad they won, especially on the road. Great job by the D fourth quarter.

But good grief! So sloppy an undisciplined, as noted above. A ton of work left to do to get this team a win Saturday and any shot at the playoffs.

Can't understand the lack of discipline/penalties from a coach that's now been around awhile and played with discipline. That really bothers me.

March on triumphantly!

@siu_2011 The team made progress but how much is difficult to ascertain against an inferior opponent. QB play is still a big question mark and concern. Realistically, we don't matchup well against UIW.  The secondary will have to make major improvements in order for us to have any resemblance of a chance to win. I just don't see this team getting it done next week but hope I am wrong. At this point, I'd be happy with positive development in what we have from week to week regardless of game outcomes. That may be the best we can ask for.

The Peay fumble late in the 2nd quarter changed the game.  Hard to tell but it looked like the WR simply just dropped the ball after a big gain.  The Salukis played much better in the 2nd half so I hope they figured something out.  The competition only rises from here.

9 sacks. I wonder how that number stacks up to the record books.
