Baker deserves a lot of credit for that win. Incredible 2nd half. This team is dangerous if he's playing like that.
I think that second half is the best football he's ever played for us. Been pretty critical of him the past few years, but I will give him a ton of credit tonight. He really stepped up when we needed him
I love this board and all of multiple personalities of the posters I tend to stay even keel through out the game and all I can say is those who still believe Nic Baker can't play at this level I am serving crow tomorrow
Problem is doing it consistently. Two years ago when we blew out NDSU, he was great, but that doesn't show up often enough. Wasn't just him 1st half though. The whole team and the bad play calling was just awful.
2nd half he had all day to throw except for a couple of plays. Also made some great scrambles and passes. If the O line can block like that, we can beat anybody in the MVC. However, a number of teams in the MVC have better Ds and better linemen than SEMO, so easier said than done. I'll just be happy if we can make the playoffs and with a 3 - 0 start, I think we can.
SEMO was missing some of their best players. Won't be surprised to see them make the playoffs again.
This team has some serious studs. My gut told me they were better than SEMO even after that turd of a 1st half.
3-0 after that non-conference schedule is pretty incredible.
I hope they get a big crowd in two weeks against MSU. They certainly deserve it.
With all of the fire power of 2nd half offensive explosion let us not forget without another above average showing by the defense and getting key stops and especially a awesome turnover with under 2 minutes to go in the game we don't win DEFENSE WINS GAMES AND CHAMPIONSHIPS

everyone here kept talking about the 3 play playbook. luckily we grabbed an expanded playbook on the way out of the locker room!

3-0!! What a start with that schedule. Let’s pack out Saluki Stadium on the 30th!
Biggest range of emotions I can remember in a game. 4 TOs and all bounces, calls, etc going against us for so long. Crazy we won that game. Glad to see the passing game get going with our talented WRs and hopefully a sign of things to come. O-line gave Baker lots of time and when they didn’t, he was still able to make plays. Defense great again.

Wow. After an hour drive home, that’s all I got.
As far as the “poor coaching” comments earlier, that’s crap. Good teams make you look bad. Oklahoma State lost to us and they “looked bad”. Good defenses make you look bad sometimes. It’s as simple as that. SEMO is good, and also caught a lot of breaks as well. They honestly might not lose another game this season.
Heck of a freakin win. I can’t wait to see what this team can do down the road!

Another bad loss for SIU, and whatever excitement there was for a fairly boring team, is likely gone.
Bad job coaching, bad job quarterbacking, awful mistakes, points given away for free and really stupid play calls at times.
