A couple guys on the roster I haven't really heard anything about this preseason that I'm curious about:
- Zach Westmoreland: Transfer from Eastern Michigan who played WR there but is listed as a LB on Southern's roster, but his name didn't come up on the LB position preview that was posted on social media. Is he healthy?
- Allen Middleton: A freshman WR from Mascoutah ... there was some substantial hype about him when he committed. I know the veteran receiver depth appears pretty good, so is he just going to redshirt this year?
Jeremy Chinn bobblehead night Sept 2nd. I want one.

Jacked for opening day. Season preview from the guys who operate the Dawgs FB twitter account for those interested.
Final scrimmage of fall camp tonight at 6. Sounds like it is open to the public for those interested.
It’s great seeing several of the top FBS programs in the country head coaches talking about the battle for QB1 is ongoing. Just a completely different approach than Hill. Probably the only 5-6 program in the country that made it clear who QB is from the get go.
I wonder in how many of those battles for #1 is there a starter returning who has set records and is setting records at his position and is honorable mention preseason in one of the top two conferences in FCS?
Not sure many of those programs get caught up in record setting numbers from an individual, especially if the team went 5-6 and are in the bottom half of their conference. The schools I’m seeing will be top 20 with aspirations of making the final 4. Several with returning starters and proven starters. I guess some coaches could give 2 poops about previous season or individual accolades that don’t include team championships. If nothing else, it creates an environment of stiff competition for all 22 starting spots. It also sends a message that you better bring it every day.

Don't waste your time. This topic comes up every couple of weeks and we rehash the same information/data. At this point let's just look forward and hope for a good season! Sept. 2nd can't get here soon enough!

Good info on team and the last scrimmage. They break down scrimmage thoughts around the 32 or 33 minute mark. Good stuff!

I'm really interested in our kicking situation this year. It's been a strength of this team for awhile but last year was a huge step in the wrong direction

Listening to the Dawg podcast around the 32 minute mark they talked about the kicking/punting teams. Sounds like it was a real struggle in the last scrimmage of fall camp. Right after kicking game they talked about the 3 QBs play in the scrimmage. In short…it sounded like the punting and QB1 play were struggling.
Good news for SIU/MVFC.
