Quite telling. Either nobody wanted to come coach here hence the promotions from within.....or he wasn't given much money to bring any coaches in.....or both. Gonna be a long year.
Nonsense. SIU has been paying coaches competitively. James was in the top half of defensive coordinators in the MVFC.
Hill made these hires because he likes them, not because of lack of interest in the positions or lack of funding from SIU.

Do you have a source showing that SIU is no longer paying what they’ve paid in the past for assistant coaches?
That would seem highly unlikely that they’ve all the sudden reduced the salary pool.

No official source here, but keep in mind the extra money in basketball coaching. That money had to come from somewhere. Not sure where though…

I do not have a source, but Hill took over as OC and a second year coach become the DC. Do you think it was an apples to apples salary switch?

I do. Hill likes to promote from within. He did the same thing with James.
Also, calling Pronschinske a second year coach is misleading. This will be his 8th year as a defensive assistant.

Glad you have a source. They should be able to answer the question. Is the assistant pool the same as last year?
@wood I never said I had a source. I was answering ‘I do’ in reference to your question about whether I thought it was an ‘apples-to-apples’ salary switch.

Oh gotcha, my bad. I just can't imagine that being the case when both established coordinators exited. In fact, it would be a concern IMO, especially when only 1 coordinator was replaced.
