Why do so many posters knee jerk to: Let's go to OVC, let's drop football, blah, blah, blah?

Sad performance, no doubt. Really pathetic that we were out played/coached in every phase of the game.

On the upside, we are 1-1.

March on triumphantly!

It was a bad performance but no need to overreact yet. This was just one of those games where nothing could go right. I believe they will prove to be a much better team than what we saw today

It's still remains crazy to me how this school hasn't been back to an FCS playoffs since Saluki Stadium opened.  What a giant waste of money.

Completely disagree with that. McAndrew was a rusty mess, soon to collapse! Every time fans starting stomping their feet in unison, I would get very nervous!

Saluki Stadium was built very inexpensively. Terrific place to see a game, especially if you have a cushion to sit on.

In D 1 athletics, there are really only two major men's sports. Football and basketball. Dropping football is a very bad idea if you want to be considered a major player! We just need a very good, winning program. I love Saluki football and want us to get back to the Kill years - that was fun and something to be proud of!!

I'm still a bit shocked at how bad we were this game! ND had to do a lot of rebuilding on the offensive side of the ball. New QB, and a couple of soph. RBs were all impressive. Their D and O lines ate us alive! They just dominated us from 2nd quarter on.

Our lines were terrible. Our tackling was terrible - can't count how many times their RBs broke tackles! Our RBs were not impressive. 90 yards rushing! Neither of our QBs played great. It's a shame too because we have some excellent receivers. I'd give Labanowitz a shot. Before he got hurt last year, he was more accurate than either of these guys and seemed to have that 6th sense when the rush was on.

Chinn, Parzych, and DJ Davis were huge losses.

$25.3 million to see 11 straight non-playoff teams 6 times a year.  The best use so far has been the 2017 Eclipse.

It's so damn disappointing that SIU has a beautiful football facility and it hasn't seen the playoffs.  SIU has tremendous advantages in the MVFC with stadium and location and it hasn't been taken advantage of.

This was likely one of the "easiest" games on their schedule.  Have to assume a loss next week to North Dakota State so now you're looking at having to nearly run the table to make the playoffs.

This was a must win to make the playoffs. That is not happening! We've got a good chance to beat Mo State, YSU, and WIU. I'd be shocked if we beat NDSU, SDSU, or UNI. We have to play at Redturd U. Even though they're ranked, I think they lost a lot. Possible win there. We could be 4 - 5 or 5 - 4.

Regardless, building that cheap $25 million stadium was a good thing - seen a lot of fun games there. Need to get better though if we want to fill the place! Tougher to recruit with a POS rusty hulk like McAndrew.

I get the feeling that the new facilities have helped recruiting quite a bit. Even having not gone to the playoffs in over 10 years, I think Hill is recruiting pretty well - well enough to be a playoff team. The issue the last couple years has been more about game preparation. There doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency associated with each and every game. The result is that our streak of missing the playoffs is going to continue.

We have great facilities all the way around.  We also have to remember that we are in, by far, the best football conference in FCS football.  But after last year being on the upswing, really should have been in the playoffs, and with what appears to have been a pretty good recruiting year, I was anticipating a much better performance.  The first drive looked great, Lyles was on target, we were in sync.  And we started out good on defense.  Then the whole thing went downhill from there.  North Dakota is not a bad team, they made the made the playoffs last year (instead of us) and are coached well.

I will be interested to see how we recover and where we go from here.  I am hoping upward but time will tell.

I see no evidence that recruiting has improved much. UNI, SDSU, NDSU, ISU, UND are out recruiting us at most every position, especially at QB. We've had some hits for sure - those NFL guys - but not enough.

Other than WR, UND, picked to finish 7th with a lot of new players on offense including RBs, O line, and QB, looked more talented everywhere.

I’m hoping this loss lights a fire under them and they come more energized and prepared in the future.  It’ll take a miracle to make the playoffs after yesterday, though.  It sucks we have to play NDSU next week, unless we are able to pull of a miracle!
