It amazes me how negative people are on here. I know, this game was frustrating. But I think people need to sit back, remember that were 6-2 (one loss to an FBS team), with multiple quality wins. This does hurt our chances just a bit for getting a 1-8 seed for the playoffs, but we should still be in a good position. Time to get ready for Missouri State and win out. This team is still far and away in better shape than any season I've watched in the past (which would be starting around 2016).
Stone doesn't play for this team everyone has made their decision time to move on you can speculate all you want it changes nothing and no one will ever know because it or won't happen. You make the best decision you can with the information you have at the time and move on no regrets
Well said. Case closed. End of discussion and you are correct, speculation changes nothing. My original post had to do with the fact the Nic was taking a lot of heat from some in here because we lost the Northern Iowa game. Stone is gone, Nic is here and it is what it is. Time to move forward and win the next one.

I 100% agree. Jesus Christ people, enjoy!

I'm all for expecting more from SIU Football and not settling for just being good enough but last season I was questioning if this program would ever win again and now SIU Football is likely going to back to back playoffs and has a shot at hosting a playoff game for the first time in Saluki Stadium history. And now that they're starting to win games, recruiting has picked up to the point where we're competing with the big boys in the MVFC in recruiting.
The arrow is only pointing up right now for SIU Football.

I agree that the arrow is pointing up. I was just as frustrated as anyone at the several blown chances (and decisions to not kick field goals). Like everyone else, I expect to win. My opinion of both Hill and Mullins (as coaches) will be determined mostly by wins and losses. We need to maintain recruiting at this level to keep winning, and take the program even further than it is now.
My point is...Move on and beat Missouri State. Even the best programs have "bad losses," and this loss was a 7 point loss to a ranked #16 team on the road. The way the team responds to this loss will be way more important than this loss itself. Unfortunately, it may very well cost us a MVFC Championship. But the FCS Championship dream is still VERY alive!
Just FYI - I did not bring up SL. I'm just sick of people ripping this young man who already had his degree and a job waiting for not sacrificing a year of his life to sit on the bench.
Nic's our guy now. I hate losing, especially to the Purple Puddy Tats when I think we have more talent and could have easily beaten them except for a few dumb plays and penalties. One thing you can say about Fark Marley - he's a proven and very experienced coach, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and he coached circles around us that 2nd half.
Let's hope our play and coaching improve this week to beat a tough Mo State team. It's Petrino vs. Petrino!
