I can’t fathom why NH would put Lyles in there going forward unless literally everyone else is injured. This game was terrible from start to finish and I hope it lights a fire under their asses like the loss to North Dakota. We were flat out out-coached and this can’t happen again if they want to make the playoffs.
@salukiworld Wow! From a top 5 ranking to maybe missing playoffs in one game!
Yep! Have to win at Mo. State and that will be hard to do - they won at UNI today holding them to 6 points and won at S. Dakota last week..vastly improved D under an excellent coach - and have to win at Redturd U. (also hard to do) and have to beat WIU (possible if Lyles is not QB).
Another loss and we're out of the playoffs.

Our last win against them was 2013 under Dale Lennon with Kory Faulkner as QB. DL didn't take Faulkner out at halftime for an inferior QB, even though KF was only 13 for 22 with one pick.
This is the most disappointing loss for football in a long time. The offense was stagnant and I agree Stone shouldn't have been pulled. Hill said he thought Lyles deserved a chance. I disagree. You go with the player who gives you the best chance to win and Stone is playing better than Lyles. However, turnovers, QB's etc. can be fixed. What really disappointed me was that SDSU's offense line pushed our DL back on their heels all day. They ran on us at will. This is not easy to fix. Petrino had no magic solutions at half time. My concern is not only will we make the playoffs but are we good enough to be in the playoffs if we can't fix this problem. Need an upgrade on D-line
Did anyone else notice we rarely throw over the middle. We throw to 20% of the field on the right and 20% on the left, leaving the middle 60% strictly for runs.

This isn't Little League. Everybody doesn't necessarily get to play. Or shouldn't. Stone was 8 for 9 first half w. one pick. The stagnant offense was the play calling, not the QB. When the run got shut down, Hill just kept going to the run instead of airing it out. Our lonely FG should have been a TD, but we ran the ball like 2-3 times in a row to the same side, which SDSU crushed. With our excellent receivers, we should have passed them to death 1st half - 20 passes instead of 9... to move the ball and open up the run. And yes, we almost never pass in the middle - very predictable and I'm sure every MVFC coach knows it!
That D line has been vulnerable to the run all year - 1st half against YSU! Pass D been good but SDSU did not need to pass much, and they didn't.
If we make the playoffs, I'll be amazed! Especially if we are going to let Lyles play! I'd rather see Zebrowski backing up Stone.
