we simply can't be this bad, can we?
Petrino and the entire defense should be embarrassed…have some fucking pride.
Well the good news is, the defense is ahead of the offense. Thought I heard that all preseason...Geezus!
March on triumphantly!
@salukiworld Too bad. They deserve to be embarrassed! What a piss poor, unprepared performance. We quit a quarter ago, were terrible from the start, played wimpy for the most part. Guys need to quit looking at polls and play hungry.
If I was the HC, and I'm a darn good armchair HC 😀, I would have removed some starters back in the 1st qtr because they played like they were on Valium.
Give those other guys a chance to play with heart.
I've questioned Hill's personnel decisions for years. There is no way Strong would be getting so many carries or even starting - he's no threat. Eliott or Jones would be starting.
I'd start Zebrowski and Eliott next game. Can't always go by what you see in practice. Some guys just bring it at game time.
Embarrassing as hell. We won't be ranked the rest of the year and won't be making any playoffs.
they averaged over 10 yards per play. anybody ever heard of that before?

Bobber, I am floored that we made no adjustments in the secondary to stop those 40+ yard pass receptions.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
Romeir player of the game.
Javon Williams played well.
Our FG kicker was good.
Our punter averaged 48 yds.
Strong 12 carries 1.8 per carry
Elliott 15 carries 6.9 per carry
Pop Jones 0 carries

Run game didn't seem like much of a problem, except in the red zone. Pass game was a problem though. Baker wasn't good obviously and this team really lacks another playmaker next to Cox. Maybe Hartrup is that guy. This team really misses Lenoir.
They had the best player at the most important position
Nick Hill postgame:
Folks, I watched the 99 SIU defense. That was the worst SIU defense EVER. Saw them blow a 35-7 lead to lose 55-48. Also saw them nearly blow a 41-7 lead to win 58-51. That team also gave up 67 to Western.
That team under Quarless was bad, but I never thought they quit.
This team tonight looked mentally and physically fatigued. They looked beat. I haven’t seen that in a Nick Hill team yet. Yet! Sure looked pretty damn close to the ‘ q ‘ word tonight. Time for some real soul-searchin.
Bow Em
Man that missed 2 pt conversion was critical in the 1st half, would only have lost by 33.....wowzee. Basketball will have a better PPG allowed this year.
An embarrassing, deflating performance.
I was surprised by the pre-season hype for this team to begin with, given as many holes on both lines as we had going into the season (and our lines weren't any good last year anyway). I will be curious to look at the game summary from last night to see the snaps played by newcomers on the lines.
Factor in the turnover we had on the staff in the off season (new line coaches on both sides, Dan Clark (o) and Antonio James (d)), and it's a scary situation.
As I said last night, I hope we're not seeing the effect of Hill's plan to plug those holes by hitting the transfer portal. If that's the case, we may be in for a long ride.
