We need a QB
We have a dual threat QB but he is listed as a WR! Freshman Brian Brown from Lutheran North HS St. Louis. Passed for 4,059 yds, 57 TDs only 9 INTs. Ran for 1,408 yds, 21 TDs. State championship. Time to shake things up.

Don’t get me wrong, Baker did NOT have a good game, but he’s a little ways down on my most concerned list. I’m not sure we win even if we have Scott Jr. at QB.
Our O-line was atrocious (granted they had to play 9 different guys due to various injuries), our secondary got torched repeatedly (this was supposed to be a strength?!?!), the d-line got zero pressure (both lines were my big concern coming in to this season and this game showed why), WRs dropped quite a few catchable balls, and we committed way too many penalties…9 for 79 yards (thankfully UIW was worse in this area).
Our offense was definitely bad. Baker had some really bad throws. When we were able to move the ball down the field, our red zone offense was awful (both play calling and execution). We had one explosive play when the game mattered. The only bright spots were Ro on offense and it looks like both our kickers are solid (given the long snapper doesn’t air mail it).
Long story short, we sucked in all facets and there is a lot of work to do if they want to have a decent season this year. It’s only one game, but not feeling real good about our prospects of finishing with a winning record let alone making the playoffs.
Unfortunately, I see this team going 6-5 this year which is a huge disappointment after the past few seasons. Nick mentioned possibly being cocky.........I fear it's much more a lack of talent this season than having been too cocky. Here's hoping they surprise a couple teams.

I'm really worried about this team even going .500 this year. I know it's just one game and I know Incarnate Word is a really good team but it's really hard to look at the schedule and find wins given how hard the MVFC is. I don't even think SEMO is a sure thing.
You just hope a loss like that isn't a catalyst to stunting all the growth this program has made over the past few years

I’m having trouble finding 6 wins on the schedule.

I don't disagree, just following my preseason guide:

Looking at that schedule it almost feels like a stretch getting to 6-5 and assuming that we win the games identified (a BIG if), we need to steal one of those losses to have a shot at the playoffs. NDSU is a hard no so that leaves South Dakota or MSU b/c no way in hell we beat Northwestern. We beat the Yotes last year in the playoffs and pretty much controlled that from start to finish so I guess that would be my pick. MSU has a QB very similar to UIW so we could get torched that game too.
i'll just say what i said saturday night. we keep playing that way, and we won't beat anybody, starting with SEMO. and if you don't beat SEMO,at home, coming off that fiasco, who the hell are you going to beat?
you have to protect your QB, you have to pressure the other QB, and oh, you can't have receivers running 5 yards behind your safeties. fix them all overnight, and you have a chance. if not, forget it.
NH believes we're a better team than how we played. Jesus I hope so, but sure seemed like UIW exposed some real issues. I for one don't think UIW is as good as NDSU, SDSU, Mo St., and maybe not UNI (although they got a torching I didn't expect), but I do think they're way better than us. If we win 6 games, I'll be amazed.
Maybe SEMO, maybe WIU. Winning at Redturd St., USD, YSU will not be easy. Winning at home against UNI and N. Dakota will be tough.
We'll need to make some major improvements to beat SEMO. They have a mobile QB and still have guys like Geno Hess. SEMO was picked 2nd in the OVC behind Tenn-Martin (who whipped up on WIU last week.)
