Death. Taxes. Saluki football losing close home games.

I know the Yotes are a good team but to be this unproductive offensively against much of the schedule, with a very veteran offense, is quite an indictment, and is especially irritating with one of the best defenses in recent decades.

It's the same story every year.

We beat a D2 team last week and then thought we were invincible.

Uninspired, unprepared and undisciplined.

I didn't expect to win, but this is no longer acceptable

Sure looked like a catch to me…still have to put it in from the 2 with two plays left. I thought they may go with a QB draw on one of those plays when the RB motioned out…not keeping him in the backfield to keep the LBs honest made zero sense to me. In the end, we missed a FG and couldn’t get a 4th and inches. Dropped two passes for first downs (one at the 6). Bad penalties on D keeping their drives alive. Shanked punt when you couldn’t afford it.

We had plenty of opportunities despite the struggles on offense, just couldn’t convert. Really put yourself in a tough spot needing to win out to guarantee yourself a spot in the playoffs…one of those games at NDSU.

I don't know who said it lately but it is time to go up tempo this conservative approach is wasting a tremendous defensive effort all season have to beat NDSU next week so why not try something different not to mention it is in a dome no weather to effect the passing game

Football is a top 20 program that, until today, was in the running for a seed in the playoffs with 3 games remaining.

You may be disappointed if you’re looking for respite with basketball.

@saluki44 Top 20 in a non-D1 sport.  Apples to oranges.  I prefer basketball season myself.

It is D1. FCS, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t a top program. If Mullins had the success Hill has had, we’d be clamoring for him to be signed to a lifetime contract.

Yes, it was probably a catch.  But you still have two plays left and you end the game with your tiny QB getting his pass swatted down at the line of scrimmage for the FOURTH TIME IN THE GAME??

I will always bleed Maroon, but I find it increasingly hard to root for a team that has soooo many bonehead unsportsmanlike conduct calls at exactly the wrong time.  I like Nick Hill, but discipline has certainly been lacking his entire tenure as a HC.

Someone at the game said Nick Hill sent someone to the locker room after an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

My big problem is lack of weapons on the offense and terrible playcalling.

I know everyone is frustrated with this team (mainly the offense and special teams…at least me), but Hill has owned every bit of this, no excuses. He’s still a young coach and we are in much better place than we were at the end of the Lennon era/early Hill era.

For as little as we pay him, we’ve got a good coach, one that wants to be here which I love. Let’s see how these guys respond (including Hill). He and the rest of this group need to figure out these late season games and I think they will. I want to win just as bad as everyone on here and I know everyone in that locker room.

Jaylen Reed…he’s also the one that got demoted from punt return after for absolutely zero reason not catching a punt from SDSU at the 40…it subsequently rolled another 15 or so yards.

If anyone is curious (not that it matters), but someone posted a video on the Saluki Football Facebook page in the comments that leaves no doubt that we should have had that touchdown. They took the video on the SIU side right in the end zone where he caught the pass...too bad the officials couldn't use that in the review.
