Still no waiver decision on Noah Fenske. He's a two time transfer (Iowa and Colorado) but don't get why the NCAA is keeping the Colorado guys up in the air as of right now when Deion publicly told athletes that he was going to replace them and they should find new homes. Common sense should prevail here.
Should be a big crowd, don’t think Peay is very good. SIU needs to start taking advantage of home field. It’s been a problem really since Saluki Stadium opened.
Definitely can’t lose this one with NIU and #11 SEMO coming up.
They had some good players leave, but they do have their O line, QB, and running backs returning. D might be hurting. Picked 3rd in their new conference behind Eastern Kent. and Central Arkansas (with former UNI QB McElvain).
How the Conference Predicted the Race
Sounds like AP will have the better offense of the two teams and SIU the better D. Special team could prove vital. Hope not!
AP veteran OL with what sounds like a talented dual threat type QB. Hate hearing that. QBs that move ( several in MVFB ) and OLs that protect seem to give us problems in 3rd down situations. Not to mention those types of QBs broke our backs in 4th quarter for game winning drives.

Just curious, what are you basing your crowd estimations by? Hope you’re right!

Just the fact that the first game always has good attendance combined with the promos and Jeremy Chinn bobblehead giveaway. It is supposed to be pretty warm on Saturday right now but no rain chances.
84 and clear with little wind at game time.
Free beer might bring in fans but I question the draw of bobbleheads! LOL
Don't do a darn thing for me!!
Good weather, first game, decent opponent should make for a good crowd.

SIU at 24:50
Thinks we will be happy win or lose because of the BOBBLEHEAD!!
So wrong!! 😡
Podcast calling it a toss up game and they both picked SIU. I like SIU at home but these programs were and are trending in opposite directions. AP riding back to back winning seasons, and felt like they were snubbed last year from the tournament. Also, moving the program to FBS level by 2025. Their players seem very confident they can get a W at Saluki Stadium.
THEY'RE going up to FBS??? REALLY???
I get it when some teams like Appy State and a couple of CAA schools make the jump up to FBS because they've had some serious success on this level. I scratch my head, though, when someone who;s been middle of the road (at best) like Austin Peay wants to make that jump up. It would be like if someone like MoState wanted to move up to FBS.
Not sure but ever since the 2016 ish season this program is making great strides. They had a stretch of double digit losing season and have turned the corner in a big way after 4 or 5 horrible seasons.
I think SIU is gonna be about 4.5-6.5 point favorites. Wouldn't shock me at all if SIU loses though because I'm just down on the team overall. I'm kind of expecting a transition year for both football and basketball which is disappointing. Just hope both can turn their arrows up this year.
I am very interested in how the WR room looks. I think Hartrup is the most physically talented WR we've had in a long time, just hope he stays healthy. I'm also excited about the Charleston Southern transfer Vinson Davis.
