Figure we could use a thread for non-SIU specific discussion. Montana State who was supposed to be really good this year, has not looked the part so far. Down 17-0 to New Mexico.
Edit: They scored right as I posted this 17-7.
SEMO hosting N. Alabama St. tonight at 6pm on ESPN.
Opening weekend of college football is just enough motivation for me to watch a SEMO game.
Montana St. comes from behind in the last 10 seconds to beat New Mexico 35-31.

SEMO down 15-7 and loses their starting QB in the first half, scores 30 unanswered points to beat North Alabama.
Nevada, a 4-TD underdog at home to SMU, is up 24-13 with 11 minutes to go in the game.
SEMO looked crappy 1st half. SEMO's 2nd string QB finally gets it going. And the D has come on 2nd half and created TOs, shutdown N. Ala. They have a tough true freshman RB to to replace Geno Hess and he's a good one. SEMO scores 30 in a row - wins 37 - 15. Dominated NA 24 - 0 2nd half. Actually played much better wo their starting QB.
SEMO won't be a pushover when they come to Salukiville.
SEMO will want revenge after last year’s 4th quarter come back win.

They might’ve played better overall without their starting QB, but it wasn’t due to the QB. They finally got a running game going and that was the difference. Their starting QB is a really good player.
He's a 3 year starter and can pass the ball. I think he's just an OK QB though. Caused his own shoulder injury by playing fullback instead of sliding.
The 2nd teamer QB, after an awful start, played well and appears more mobile.
Their freshman RB was tough to bring down and was impressive.
Couple of games of interest on TV tonight:
NDSU at Colorado (by 9.5) ESPN
EIU at Illinois (by 27.5) BTN
Murray at Mizzou (by 47.5) SEC - the only game with wider spread is Akron at Ohio St Saturday (by 50.5)
Colorado beats NDSU 31-26 despite the Buffs doing all they could to give the Bison a win
Watched this game. Shadeur Sanders is an NFL qb imo. More impressive was their incredible WR/CB Hunter, projected #3 pick in the NFL at either position. Fast and great hands. If he avoids injury, he'll be a star in the NFL. Colorado has really improved their O line too.
WO those two NDSU wins this game easily. Cam Miller is an excellent QB and NDSU is really solid. Gave up a lot of passing yards to a great qb/wr combo but tough against the run. Also the mile high altitude of Boulder might have got to them a bit in the second half.
Don't think there's a better qb in the MVC. I won't be surprised if they win another National Championship.
NDSU’s secondary was clueless. Ran mostly a cover 2 and had apparently zero communication with each other. Linebackers kept getting caught looking into the backfield. Surprising. Very solid team this year. Best in the last handful of years. We will have our hands full.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
I’ll be in Kinnick Stadium Saturday to watch a Hawkeye drubbing of the Redturds. I have twin grandsons from the Chicago area, incoming freshmen. One going to Illinois State, one going to Iowa. Family day for us. 🏈

They made some mistakes.. bad angles etc ... but I was impressed with the coverage on Hunter at times. That guy is a great WR ... made some great catches with a CB draped all over him. Also Colorado s revamped Oline did a good job pass blocking..most of the time Sanders had a lot of time to throw.
First game against a future NFL qb and WR... and leading at half.
at 5400' too
ISU Red offense looking pretty poor against Iowa (that’s to be expected), but they’ve also lost their starting RB and one of their QBs. Defense played pretty well in the first half, but have just run out of gas.
This is honestly one of the worst case scenarios for FCS teams. Get your butt kicked and lose starters to injury.
Edit: looks like their QB2 isn’t seriously hurt as he just came in and took a snap.
