N. Mex. State of the WAC will go independent in football as they want to stay in FBS (they're not even a good FCS team - pounded by Tarleton last year.)

WAC adds new members (Lamar, Tarleton, 4 Southland schools including Sam Houston, and S. Utah of the Big Sky, etc.) and brings back football at FCS level.

Jack. St and E. Kent. leave OVC for Atlantic Sun - also adding C. Ark., Kenn. St. and N. Ala.

The direct and indirect effects from this decision will in have an enormous impact on college sports, SIU and our beloved athletics programs.  And those conference changes above likely won't matter in a few years.

Just by cynical negative opinion.
