I have a question about the FCS playoff selection process. We, and I assume most schools, submitted a bid to host a playoff game before the selection committee chose the at-large bids. The committee must have been aware of those bids before they selected at-large teams. My question is would the knowledge of a school’s bid influence the selection process. I guess what I’m really asking is whether it is possible to “buy” your way into the playoffs. I mean if two teams had similar resumes and one of them made a higher bid for a home game, could that influence the committee?
@fish-hunter I was told, 5-6 years ago, from someone who worked for a conference, that that information is not supposed to be given. However, if the conference president gives out that information about the team(s) during breaks cannot be helped. Nothing’s perfect.
And I don’t know if that has changed.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
