Baker played much better after the 1st quarter and the D was good. Whole team played with an energy that wasn't there last week. Had a running game too. Good win.

I hope Cox is ok. Going to be tough sledding in Fargo, and much tougher without our great play-maker! Great win though. Defense and offensive line both stepped up huge today!!!

For all of the season where people have questioned the coaching staff for a myriad of reasons I do think we have to give credit where credit is due because this is the most complete effort of the season especially after a disappointing last few weeks getting this team to show up and play this well has to go to the staff  good job Nick Hill and company

they certainly deserve credit.  much better play calling.  i do not agree with the most complete game.  kansas state game gets that in my eyes. I would be happy to reconsider that after a win in fargo.

Craving a McBride Special!

Reis with a great interview with Hill and then Brown.

Asked Hill if it was a fair question whether SIU was ready to play or wanted to play after last week, Hill said it wasn’t a fair question.

Interview with the Defensive player of the game, Reis apologized for Mis-identification in case kid sees it on Twitter.  Lol

Awesome stuff

We blew NDSU out last year - Baker's best game. I believe we played hurry up the whole game. Would sure be nice to get that magic back.

To my eye, the issues with Baker have mostly been lack of arm strength and inability to see over the O line. And those are things that unfortunately can't change. When you move the line and receivers in different ways and get him in space, it plays to his strengths. There is just a bit of a cap to the upside. All that said, he's our QB for today and lets go Dawgs.

Sometimes. He just makes bad throws. We were settling for a FG cuz NB threw the pass behind the receiver. A good throw meant a 1st down. Thankfully the ref called roughing the holder.

And luckily, USD is playing like dog cigars!. How in the H can you forget to cover a 1st team All-American WR near the goal line?? My Grandma could have completed that TD pass (and she died decades  ago).

was her name martha?  i think i dated her.

Completely agree. We do so much better operating that way. Baker is NOT a drop-back, pocket sort of guy. At all.

Keep them off kilter and play to the strength of our QB.

(Inflammatory political snark)

Salukis and UT Martin were the only road winners today.

Credit Hill with a great game plan. Used the short quick passing game as an extension to run game. Played to Bakers strength instead of trying to hit the deep ball all night. Defense played great. Need Cox to be healthy.

NDSU will a tough game, especially at their place. Win this one, and we can certainly win the rest. Lose, and it still has been a good season overall. SIU needs to be in the playoffs every year if the program is expected to grow.
