Illinois St ended up losing to ND and NDSU is going to beat UNI. Does that give us hope for tomorrow?

I'd guess SIU is in right now and if they do get in I'd bet on a game at North Dakota who they didn't play this year

Redturds were up - UND scored with 25 secs left to win it by 1.

YSU won as expected.

NDSU up in 4th qtr. Backup RB just ran a 60 yd. TD. UNI marched down and scored again...48 - 20 in 4th qtr. UNI playing better in 2nd half.

Dawgs did their job on a beautiful sunny day at Saluki Stadium. Very small crowd.

Looks like SDSU, USD, NDSU for sure.

Next one or two spots are between SIU, UND, YSU.

Massey Ratings, not including today:

SIU  #7

UND #14

YSU #15

Massey strength of schedule, not including today:

SIU  #4 (lost to SDSU by 7, beat 5 - 6 NIU who has one game left at 1 - 10 Kent St, blew out 9 - 2 APSU who won the UAC conference)

YSU #8 (whipped SIU by 28, lost to SDSU by 34)

UND #16  (whipped NDSU by 25, squeaked by InSU in OT, lost to SDSU by 21)

I think we're in!!! Those wins over NIU and APSU and playing SDSU and USD tough are big.

@mr_woogers are Massey ratings highly considered by the committee?

I think the 3 games that will get the Salukis in are the Bizon beating the Purple Kitties, UT Marting losing to Samford and Western Carolina losing to VMI. Furman losing to 1-9 Wofford brought down the value of the SoCon.

Sam Herder has us in.

Collegesportsmadness.com has us in and not one of the last 4 in.

"Fun" facts: We haven't beaten a team that ended up with 3 or more wins since September, and we haven't beaten a team that finished .500 or above since week 1 against Austin Pee (Week 2 if NIU wins out)

EDIT: https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2023-11-18/predicting-every-large-selection-2023-fcs-playoffs has us in too

And I'm sitting here wondering what these writers see

Not sure. The announcers for the UNI-NDSU game kept popping up Massey ratings. Supposedly they're considering the Faktor ratings, which suck IMO.

Not sure how much credence they would give any rating system.

They don't think the MVFC gets more than 4 in. Not sure about that. I think 5 is very possible.

They also have YSU out. YSU was out last year with 7 wins. I don't think playing non-schollie Valpo and Robert Morris does them any favors. They did play Ohio State and did not get destroyed. (Pretty sure the Buckeyes played a lot of 2nd/3rd teamers second half.)

They also have UT-Martin in. Sam Herder has UT-Martin out, but at 8 - 3 and tied for their conference championship, I think they're in.

Speaking of playoffs, NDSU is looking really good. I won't be surprised if they make a deep run in the playoffs.

Cam Miller is turning out to be a very good QB.

SIU has wins over an Austin Peay team that might get a seed tomorrow (and a blowout at that) and against an FBS team that probably gets into a Bowl Game.  They also play in the best conference in FCS.  It makes sense why SIU would be in despite beating up on bums the last 2 months.

I just hope this isn't satisfying to the coaching staff being a bubble team every year.  I know it's tough in the MVFC when the Dakotas exist but this team keeps leaving wins on the table every year to ensure they're always going to sit on some side of the bubble.

If they are satisfied, they're deluding themselves. Our rushing offense is anemic. Indiana State is a lousy team with a dearth of talent. They were a circus of incompetence. Fumbles, screwups all over the place, but 2nd half, they tied us ..minus an extra pt.

1st half they gave us great field position via fumbles plus a scoop and score TD.

2nd half they sacked Baker and harassed him - our Oline was taking it easy 2nd half.

50 yards rushing against a really bad team.

We need better talent and coaching at QB, Oline, and RB IMO if we are ever to seriously compete with SDSU and NDSU.
