As much as Jerry isn’t wrong about Fleck... our Chancellor hired PJ Fleck when he was President at Western Michigan. I wonder what John Dunn thinks of these comments. I know him from when I was a student and found him to be a no BS, stand up guy in an administration that wasn’t exactly known for that sort of thing. Maybe he should call in Jerry to Anthony Hall and have a little chat.
As was said in the interview, Kill had no issues w/ Fleck when he was hired at WMU. Hell, Kill even put in a good word for him. The issues came about when Fleck was talking very negatively about his former staff-mates and their inabilities at Minnesota (both publicly and privately)....which is about as big of a cardinal sin that a coach could commit. Kill, being known as a very loyal guy did not take kindly to such remarks. The flamboyancy of Fleck is just an ancillary trait that rubs many coaches in the industry the wrong way when focus is taken away from the players.
Kill is not the only person from that coaching tree who feels that way, but he clearly didn't feel the need to lie when he was asked about Fleck on a Big 10 radio show. It's not like he set out to be controversial.
I would bet a large sum of money that Coach Kill received way more atta boy's privately from coaches around the country than he received flack.

Minnie went from 9 - 4 under Claeys to 5 - 7 under Fleck, so for that idiot to say he needed to change the culture, etc. was a public insult to Kill. Don't blame JK - last time I checked we had free speech in this country. Fleck's a large p*nis - and not in a good way! LOL
