Great run for Farley. Hopefully UNI finds the right coach to return them to an elite level in the FCS. What’s good for UNI is good for the rest of the MVFC.
I was thinking that might happen soon, considering his comments about NIL and the portal craziness (which I totally agree with.) Had a good run.
I wonder how many more old school coaches who have morals are going to go down this path after all Tony Bennett at UVA mens head basketball coach and now Farley at UNI both had the same thought on current events maybe if enough coaches speak up maybe things will slow down but highly doubtful as money talks and everyone else is pushing up hill
The BIG MONEY schools have ruined the current state of college athletics. They need to go play with themselves and let the rest of us form our own division. If any of those schools need a game with anyone outside of their division, there’s a flat rate of $2M per event for the participating school…..and that rate will continue to be reevaluated annually to make sure it’s in line with economies of scale. This also includes pulling out of the NCAA Basketball Tournament as well. Again, time to tell the BIG MONEY schools to go play with themselves. The school with the most money wins their division. Sit back and watch the $hit $how!
Drake coach to get UNI job...
Not sure hiring a (alleged) non-schollie school coach is smart. Most important skill is recruiting!
- I think hiring a guy like Stepsis can recruit if he can get players to Drake in a no traditional recruiting way and compete in the playoffs i am sure he can recruit to a school that is traditional in recruiting and has NIL money should make it easier
