@garywilsonfan Sounds like the MVC is going to cancel all non-conference games. Too bad.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

doesnt say anything about cancelling non-conference.
Where did u get that info?
@salukibbfan1 Sorry, I don't have any info. I was simply speculating it since most non-conference games are at the start of the season and the season might be delayed.

MVC stopped sponsoring football in 1985.
SIU football school is a member of the MVFC. The MVC and MVFC are linked but have different administration.

On Friday, (07/24/2020) the NCAA Board of Governors is scheduled to consider voting on whether to cancel fall championships. One source told CBS Sports that is the only agenda item for the NCAA's highest governing body.
UPDATE:
The NCAA Board of Governors on Friday avoided making any major decisions about fall sports championships, stating it will continue discussions in August -- a decision that is likely to appease the FBS conference commissioners and athletic directors who voiced strong opposition to cancelling championships at this point in the coronavirus pandemic.
Not exactly shocking the NCAA is a bit too cowardly to really make any moves. Overall college sports are going to be much more difficult to bring back than professional sports because you cant really put the college athletes into an isolated bubble the way you can pro athletes. They are going to go to class, they are going to go back to their dorms, etc. Much higher risk of infection
MVC decides to postpone fall sports until at least September 18th. MVFC is going to wait until the last minute and see what the Power 5 conferences do before deciding what to do about football.
Shouldn't kids be back in college for fall semester? Bars are open, protests are blessed events, beaches open, college aged kids mostly immune to direct consequence, etc. If the kids are in school, then why not sports?

College kids might be immune to the virus but what about professors, people in the local community. If there was a way to keep kids on campus and in town, maybe it would work. But if kids go home to Chicago and bring back the virus, you're looking at another wave.
