High pass efficiency has a lot do do with the amount of screens and bubbles we throw. I would expect high percentage of completions with the throws our QBs were asked to make. We still can’t line up with our talented fast WRs and dare teams to continue to load the box. Every team played run heavy D because they knew the ball is always going to be in front of them. SB and SL did what they were asked to do and they are tough kids that are smart. I still think Hill would like to force teams to worry about downfield passing game to open up run. Right now no defense is concerned with anything but screens and bubbles. We have two big strong armed transfers that are going to be hard to keep off the field once they have a feel for the offense. JMO.

Baker and Stone L. are listed at 5'9" and 5'10" respectively. I think that is being generous. They cannot see over the line to throw downfield effectively. They have had to scramble outside the pocket in order to see downfield. That is not efficient.

At 5-foot-11, Russell Wilson isn't the shortest quarterback in the NFL. That distinction goes to another NFC West quarterback in his second season in the league. Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals is listed at 5-foot-10 and has gotten himself off to a pretty good start in his NFL career. (You may be correct on arm strength; I would like to see more downfield and over the center passes.)

I've stood next to both of them, they are 5'9" at best. All you had to do is watch the games in the spring to realize they couldn't throw downfield without scrambling out of the pocket. Flutie was 5'10ish" too, and a good QB. He was at least 2" taller than both Stone L and Nick Baker. Like I said, big time gamers, but very limited throwing downfield. We would be very well served with a big, strong pocket QB who can throw downfield to our outstanding wideouts and in turn open up the run game for our outstanding RB's. Just my opinion.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him appreciate statistics! LOL Obviously the league coaches were more impressed with SL than some of the fans on here.

Accuracy and decision making are much more important than monster arm strength. Mike Vick could throw the ball a mile but couldn't complete it. Joe Montana said his arm was throwing balloons at darts, but he was smart and accurate!

I guess we'll find out soon what NH thinks.

The only team with as many passing TDs as SIU was UND (we played one more game than them).

All games, we had more passing TDs than any team in the MVFC - 17.
