Not surprised. Good team but not as good as last year. After we whipped them, the biggest surprise to me was them beating North Dakota, the only team to beat SD St. this year - until we do it today!!
James Madison is really good! They are taking it to UND early. UND looks over-matched. Hope that changes. I sure hope we beat SDSU, but if we don't, SDSU v James Madison might be quite a championship game!
Before the playoffs started, I picked SDSU. After seeing James Madison, I think they'll win it all. Really good defense, good QB, and really good running game. They played a weak schedule, had a close game against VMI, but they rolled over a tough UND team with ease. They Do have to play at Sam Houston, who has a good passing game, but I doubt Sam's D is up to stopping JMU.
SDSU putting a hurting on Delaware. I think we would have had a good shot at taking down Delaware. I expect James Madison to beat Sam Houston State, although Sam Houston State is good. They just don't have a good enough defense. James Madison and SDSU should be a great final.
I bet SDSU and James Madison would win, or at least easily compete for a D1 MAC conference title. The talent difference between top FCS and lower FBS is now negligible, at best.
We'd kick the Blue Hens in the tail feathers. Our passing game is better than SDSU's - our receivers are far better imo.That's how SDSU is doing it. UD played a weak schedule other than Villanova!

Completely agree. I feel like we outplayed them...we did outgain them...and we would be playing JMU for a National Championship next week.
Stieg in post-game interview complemented the Dawgs and almost said but changed it to "I wouldn't say we were fortunate to win" - but they were fortunate to win (and that Is what he was thinking.)
Besides not reviewing a bad call .. still don't know how that could happen in a playoff game .. they missed obvious offensive holding by SDSU that would have killed one of their 2nd half TD drives, made a questionable interference call that kept a drive alive, etc. etc.
Just wish we had mixed up our play calling on the 1st and goals..could have overcome bad calls.

I turned the game off because JMU was blowing them out. Surprise SHSU came back to win, scoring 4 TDs in 5 minutes of the 2nd half.

Terrible luck for the Jacks. SDSU lost their QB Gronowski on the 1st series - looked like a broken ankle or leg. Their backup QB was awful - couldn't complete a 5 yd. pass. With Gronowski, they win that game by a TD or more.
SHSU QB was terrific though. Talk about a tough kid - got absolutely blasted many times by SDSU lineman, safeties, LBs and playing with a bum ankle.
