I am at a wedding. Two posts? That’s it?
Well, three now!
I'm not going to hold it against people for staying away from a bad product.

The Salukis fall to 1-3
We are bad, but hey, at least we have an alum as our coach.
SIU has been left behind by their conference and with all its fiscal problems I do not forsee it catching up any time in the near future.
I liked the hire at the time. What the hell, I thought, roll the dice. It wasn't a bad call at all, but young Nick is in over his head. Probably anyone would be, so I'm not going to blame it all on him.

I was at the game and we are just terrible again.I don’t think we can even win 4 games this year. We don’t have a quality quarterback or running back, defense is inconsistent at best. Penalties and more penalties. I could go on but what’s the use. We actually had a pretty good crowd, better than I expected.
Happy and amazed to hear about the crowd, but I suspect those numbers will diminish as the season drags on.
Another dismal year for football at SIU. Sigh...

Saluki Stadium was such a waste of money. Should have just dropped football and funneled all that money into basketball. What's the point?

Sad but true probably at this point. Considering the rest of saluki way isnt going to even happen it makes the choice even more glaring

I completely agree.
I disagree. Football is still exciting and has the potential to do a lot of good for SIU. As bad as we are, I still have hope, but I'm afraid Nick Hill is not the guy. I thought he would be, but I think our recruiting is just not good enough. Reminds me of Lennon. Some talent but lots of gaps. Also, not crazy about the D coach. Nick'll get his one more year, but I don't expect much. Surely we can be as good as Missouri State and Western!
Hill is one of the lowest paid coaches in the MVC - that will have to change to upgrade the coaching.
Really thought we would be better this year, and the first three quarters at Ole Miss were encouraging. D.J. Davis has impressed and our wide receivers are very good, but I think it's evident that Sam Straub is just an average MVC QB (that first pick he threw was awful) and the D is not very good. (300 yards rushing to SEMO and blown pass coverages last night)
I think we can beat Indiana State and maybe one other. Be great if we went to Redturd State and played a great game and whipped them.
I just fail to see the "lot of good" it can do for the university. SIU plays at the wrong level of football to potentially build excitement and it most certainly does not have the funding to get to the level that matters. Even when football was top 10 nationally ranked it was a niche sport and unlikely most niche sports its prohibitively expensive.
