@salukiworld I think the idea is to give Curry a little help without getting him killed at his age. Thought Lindauer and Curry played well all things considered.
With Lindauer back and playing and the season being lost as far as making the playoffs do you continue to play Curry and burn his redshirt or do you sit him and play Lindauer as a gift for his years not getting to play and he goes out on a high note

I would just keep playing Curry. I think he'll end up getting a redshirt year next year anyways playing behind Williams and Simmons again assuming both don't get hurt again.
A few folks on the FB groups calling for Hill to be fired… with little insight into the realities of this year.
@siu_2011 100%. Hill is the right man for SIU. Staff and players worked their asses off. Bad years happen and this one is directly related to injuries at key positions. Time to regroup and try to go 1-0 next week.
In today’s world of college athletics it’s gonna be hard to find a guy who is all-in at SIU. Hill had OC opportunities for more money and stayed. They have a talented group of young kids. Stay the course.
With all the injuries this season, the idea of Hill being on the hot seat never even crossed my mind until I saw these posts. It's just one of those seasons and Hill certainly isn't to blame for everything that's happened. His overall body of work shows what he can do under more normal circumstances.

That is all they do on Facebook. Fire everybody! No disrespect to Nagy, but everyone is excited on FB because he hasn’t coached a game yet. But give it time, some douche will be there after a couple of disappointing losses. That site is all trolls. These people wouldn’t be able to say these things to a coach’s face.
Oh there are plenty of anti Nagy folks ready to jump once anything goes wrong due to perceived mistreatment of the previous coaching staff. They'll come out on social media and show their ugly heads soon enough. Social media has turned out to be a very ugly place at times.A few folks on the FB groups calling for Hill to be fired… with little insight into the realities of this year.

Coach Hill feels as bad as anyone about this season. He is the right man for the job and will have the Salukis back in contention soon enough.

I saw. That was embarrassing. No reasonable fan who’s really paid attention to the last 5 years would even consider the idea of calling for Hill.
Those conversations remind me of the other Facebook convos I see on my feed all the time. It’s a wild place out there.

Agree with this statement. Some of these folks need to find a life outside of a computer/cell phone. These folks have their own issues, and feel better about themselves when they respond toward others in a vicious manner. Uncalled for, immature, ignorant and embarrassing. Vey similar I would say to last season when Mullins team lost some games they should have won. Haters are gonna hate I guess.
I understand turnovers and penalties don't help but when you tense up bad things happen play aggressive and people relax and play with confidence
Certainly agree. Although I believe Coach Hill is the right man for the job, the second half starts, and entirety seem to continue to be an issue. Frustrating.
What has happened? This is a team that won a game in the playoffs last year. I know injuries have played a part, but this team was ranked in the preseason. They look nothing like the teams of the past few years.
They're on their 4th string QB, a true Freshman. That being said, this was not a playoff team with a fully healthy team. They struggled with an Austin Peay team that stinks this year and probably lose if they don't fumble in the open field.
Must disagree. This team was beginning to figure things out in game 3 vs top ten UIW. If we don't play complacent in the second half, we win by three touchdowns, and Mr. D J is not hurt because he's on the bench 4th qt. SEMO is top ten, BYU is 8-0 FBS top ten. MVFC has 6 top 25 teams. SIU SOS is number 1. 7-5 was certainly attainable before 14-15 players are injured. The national playoffs is the goal every year. Sometimes goals are not met, and sometimes injuries decimate a team. A lot of young, talented players are on this team. The future is bright!
GO DAWGS!!!
- @resaluki-88 While I am one who disagreed with the firing of Mullins he had all of the same qualities as Hill except for having a tournament berth but I have always wanted the Saluki programs to be successful I don't care who the coaches are and while I may disagree with a philosophy or a play call I will never call out a staff publicly by name but in today's world of social media this is a plaque on sport landscapes from pee wee leagues to the professionals and I am sure this can influence in a myriad of ways from the volunteers to the owners to make the decisions they make just my two cents
