A few folks on the FB groups calling for Hill to be fired… with little insight into the realities of this year.

That is all they do on Facebook. Fire everybody! No disrespect to Nagy, but everyone is excited on FB because he hasn’t coached a game yet. But give it time, some douche will be there after a couple of disappointing losses. That site is all trolls. These people wouldn’t be able to say these things to a coach’s face.

Agree with this statement. Some of these folks need to find a life outside of a computer/cell phone. These folks have their own issues, and feel better about themselves when they respond toward others in a vicious manner. Uncalled for, immature, ignorant and embarrassing. Vey similar I would say to last season when Mullins team lost some games they should have won. Haters are gonna hate I guess.

I know for a fact some of those Facebook people are SIU fan pretenders. One of them is originally from a rival school’s area and hates SIU.

I am no expert on sports but as a parent of three boys who were always playing sports from grade school through college, I have sat in a lot of bleachers and have heard it all....and Facebook just seems to empower the fanatics.   My experience tells me that those who yell the loudest from the stands and Facebook usually know the least.  No one knows what goes in a program unless they are involved in it on a daily basis. Coaching staff needs to stay the course.

@nancybaker 100% spot on. It’s sad the armchair coaches that have no clue as bashing the staff. SIU is fortunate to have Nick Hill and nobody is working harder to prepare than coach. It was great hearing Hill and Lindauer speak on Luke Martin’s radio show this week. These guys are still together and working hard for the name of their chest. Regardless of record and injuries, they are going to MSU to try and win a football game.

I think without all the injuries, especially to DJW, this teams wins 7 and makes the playoffs. I'm sure nobody wants to win more than NH!

Still think we need to do better recruiting...not sure what that takes, but Nielsen at crappy USD in a crappy town is getting it done.

Need way better O lines and RBs IMO.

Looked really good that 2nd qtr last week and without the sleep-walking "Yankees 5th inning" 2nd half , we easily win that game against a bad InSU team. Both Curry and Lindauer played well for the most part.

Mo. State is way more talented than InSU though. Need to play all 4 quarters this week. Hope Hill has them psyched and buys the wideouts new tacky gloves.

I like Nick, too.  But some of the positive comments on here are just as overblown as the negative ones on FB.  He's basically Bryan Mullins with a longer leash.

He's had more success than Mullins but not enough in my opinion. Needs better talent. If Nielsen can do it at USD, it can certainly be done here. Kill did it here too.

This year he gets a bye because of injuries, but I do wonder why so many injuries. Bad conditioning or bad weight training??  or just bad luck?
