@siu_2011

Blankenship had that bad torn muscle from the spring. Don't know if he is fully recovered.

I was just looking over the roster. Is that the case that our 6th year seniors, whose first year in the program would've been 2016, were recruited to SIU by Lennon and staff, not by Hill?

K State looked very good against Stanford today with a 24-7 win in Dallas. They have a great run game and their defense looks good. I think we will be able to pass against them, but their run game may give us fits. Might have to score a lot to beat them!

KState ran all over Stanford. They have a very good running game.  Hope our D is ready. And we are going to have to do some serious scoring.

Mostly true, but I guess you've never been to Columbus, OH on game day - land of the Scarlet and Gray van! LOL

@mr_woogers Oh yes, I've been there. My brother's kids went to school at THE OSU. If you know Columbus, you may have heard of Longaberger Baskets. My brother(Tom) was safety engineer there for several years. One of his friends gave him tickets to an Illinois vs Iowa FB game, knowing my brother came from Illinois on the Mississippi river border with Iowa. Tom asked him how he got such good tickets and his buddy said, " Oh, we try to buy season tickets at all the away FB game schools to make sure we can get in." And yes this guy did have a red and grey motorhome.

Somewhat good news on the injury front. Neither Cox or Francis are done for the year. Hill said he thought Francis was out for at least this week. Wasn't sure about Avante, but sounds like a possibility we get him back for SDSU. Having Cox would be huge, but hopefully don't rush him back to get hurt worse, b/c we'll need him later this year.

Nice to see Youngstown upset Mo State today and NDSU take down UNI. Long way to go, but this win was obviously huge for our title hopes. Feels like the schedule is set up pretty well from here on out.

Alright, here's our remaining schedule:

  • 10/6: North Dakota
  • 10/30: @Northern Iowa
  • 11/6: Missouri State
  • 11/13: @Indiana State
  • 11/20: Youngstown State

Pretty big opportunity ahead of us, but we need to avoid a let down, especially next week against UND who isn't as bad as their record suggests. We need to give them payback for that bad L last year.

Huge game at UNI after the bye week. Hopefully we can get Cox back for that one.

The back-end of the schedule is then pretty friendly for us, but there are no cupcakes.

UNI and NDSU appear to be our biggest threats, but they both have trips to SDSU remaining.

Is this someone that has an actual vote for the FCS poll?  When is the last time that SIU had a first place vote?  I'd like us to come in at a #2-3 ranking this week with the losses at the top.
