Yeah 10-20 for 127 yards and a pick (wasn't his fault) but 12 carries for -6 yards. K-State has a really good defense so it's probably a lot of that.

Our OL hasn't given Nic enough time to wait until the receivers work their way open. Nic has been hit all night after only 3 seconds. His internal clock has been reset to that by this point in the game.

Oline hasn't been great for sure, but some of Baker's decisions, his lack of rush awareness, not great accuracy when guys are open, etc is why I think he hasn't had one of his better games tonight. Also don't think the playcalling has been great at times. Kstate has a darn good D too - a big step up from SEMO!

I though NB played better on that short drive than the rest of the game. We didn't do that hurry up enough. I think that can neutralize a bigger, faster D somewhat.
Gotta be proud of the Dawgs - we gave them a scare and played way better than Stanford.
We've made some bank and put the fear of god into a decent FBS team, AND this was the only close FBS/FCS game today, so we're getting some press out of this, which is great for recruiting.
While I'd have preferred a real win, I'm OK with this: way better than the 42-13 I usually expect out of these games. Great job, Salukis!

That could have went a little better. Nick shouldn't see that sort of pressure again this year.

Think SIU made out of this one with no injuries from what I can tell so that's a win. K-State's QB going out changed the game and gave SIU a shot but happy with how they competed. Next week should be fun with the home opener.
Nic was definitely under a lot of pressure tonight. Also, one of his favorite targets, Cox, was shut down - they were on him like glue.
I thought our D played tough, definitely improved from last year.
If you would have told me we only needed to score 10 points in the second half to win at halftime I would have taken that! Tough loss. We had some good drives into their territory and just couldn’t execute.
Offensive line was definitely tired in the 4th quarter and made it tough on Baker. Hard to see with the views you get watching the game if receivers weren’t getting open, we’re running longer developing routes and he didn’t have time or what, but he just wasn’t able to push the ball down the field much. I would have liked to see more quick passes to get them in a rhythm because the offense always seemed a little out of sync.
In the end, they put up a hell of a fight and now it’s time to go win the Valley! Go Dawgs!

Missed opportunities by the Dawgs. Defense showed some toughness tonight. That effort on D will go a long way in the valley. Thought NB was careless with the football while scrambling late in the game. KSU’s front kept applying pressure making it difficult for NB to see over the top.

Agree, but seems to me that he rarely stepped up in the pocket and there was some room there. Always scrambled around.
