Speaking of secondary making tackles (or more accurately not making tackles), Steed has an opportunity on the TD run to stop them at the 3/4yard line and instead of wrapping up and bringing the RB to the ground, he goes for the selfish “hero” hit and the RB bounces off him in to the end zone. Coach James said sure tackling was an emphasis this week, I guess Steed missed the memo.

So Hill said during the pregame interview, we can’t beat ourselves…so far not good.

Nick should know, almost every game he has ever coached at SIU when they lost, they have beaten themselves.

March on triumphantly!

Simmons misses a wide open (would have been a TD) VD on 3rd down and we punt again.

4 drives, 4 punts for SIU's offense.  Not sure if the offense or defense has been worse so far

Entire team and coaching staff should be embarrassed.

I was gonna stop watching at some point figuring this would be a loss but now I'm interested in how bad this gets

Understanding that it's apples to oranges comparison of basketball to football. But if the SIU AD applies the same principles to winning in football, as he did to hoops, Nick should be very worried about now.

Simmons, I repeat, has been AWFUL. Our defense is about to get gashed again. These guys are acting like they have zero pride.

The football program has been in the playoffs, including last year.  Nick should and will be fine.

Even that completion by HS was low. Throws low or short half the time. HS is not a college QB. Shades of Kare Lyles.

D has no pass rush, terrible pass D, no RB that is really quick or tough like Theis, blah, blah, blah.

NH needs rethink his recruiting IMO.
