Hey, I see the #2 passer last year in the FBS, former Saluki QB Austin Reed, is back in the transfer portal. After he left SIU, he went to West Florida. Last year was at Western Kentucky. Obviously looking to move up to a power 5 school. Makes you wonder what would have happened if Nick gave him a shot.

As it stands now, there are three:
- Collin Heard (DB)
- Kaniji Chandler (LB)
- Levi McAffee (DB). Losing this kid hurts. Was a 3star recruit. SIU doesn’t get many of those.
One would think Iziah Hartrup is soon to follow.

He's been really good - won a Nat'l Title at D2 W. Florida. Averaged 327 yds passing, 64% completions, 36 tds vs 10 ints, total 4249 yds passing for 8 - 5 W. Kentucky. Wonder if he's skipping their bowl game.
@mr_woogers But we had Kare Lyles. He ended up at JSU backing up two true freshman’s his fifth year. 
Even though I like Nick as a HC, I do find many of his QB decisions to be head scratchers.

Agree - for a guy who was a good QB, you have to wonder about some of his decisions. Lyles was not a good QB and yet he stuck with him for way too long.
Foss was a 3 star from Huntsville - transferred to Nichols St. 6' 4" Hunter Simmons (SI POY) will probably never get a sniff... We have 6 QBs on the roster.
@mr_woogers and only 1 has played in a meaningful game in 2 years. And we are barely above.500 in those 2 seasons. Makes sense.

Hate to see that. I figured next year if healthy he would be our go to RB. He played a little in the NDSU game - last game. Makes me wonder if he was ready to go in earlier games but didn't get to play. These things are usually about playing time.
I'm afraid next year might be a bummer.
