I'm predicting

the SIU over the Book of Mormon

Penguins over Villanova (shocked they're playing a noncon tough opponent 1st game - so un-penguin like)

NDSU over Colorado

SDSU over Okie St

S. Dakota way over Northern St.

UNI way over Valpo

SEMO over N. Mexico St.

@mr_woogers

I agree for the most part with your picks. I slightly favor Villy over the Guins. SIU vs. LDS should be a close one with the Salukis eking out the win. Joseph Smith adherents will be drinking in sorrow on Sunday.

Well the SIU over BYU is more wishful thinking than anything. The fact that they have a number of big, returning WRs and we have inexperienced CBs and new QBs/RBs/WRs is scary. Also not sure of the altitude will affect our players. Provo is 4550ft so may not be too much of an issue I'm hoping.

But then I remember going to Illinois in 1985 and almost upsetting the 3rd place Big 10 team. Missed a FG at the end because our QB took a sack and put us out of position and lost just 28 - 25.

Disappointing game to say the least. The team showed from the opening kick that it could not compete against a so-so FBS squad. This will be a transitional year for Nick Hill and team with a playoff spot not likely. Just hoping to see improvement over the course of the season.

Mo St nearly beat #3 Montana at their place. If not for the 13 penalties, they win that game.

Their RB Wright is dynamite - great burst, tough, great balance, 2nd team All-MVFC last year - the kind of RB we need. Good QB too. Will be tough in the MVFC.
