I have a feeling there are going to be plenty of other schools looking to fill dates.  I think SIU will likely find someone else to fill that date.

That's a large assumption. I question whether there will even be in-person education. Country is going in the wrong direction for sure.

Just check out the Big 10 and other conferences cancellations - a lot of schools will be looking for games:

COVID isn't going away in the United States until there's a vaccine.  If they can figure out how to move college athletics to another country that actually took this seriously and is seeing good results, then maybe we'll get college sports.

The problem is those schools are missing out on power 5 buy games in their budget as well.  The NIUs of college football can’t afford to buy SIU for a game when they’re missing $1.5 million from their budget after the B1G cut non conference games.
