Currently has 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with a few reviews in, was supposed to premiere at SXSW before that was canceled but now released August 7th in theaters and OnDemand. Doesn’t actually look like it was filmed in Carbondale for some reason but still pretty cool.
Pretty cool! Good pub for Carbondale, if it was filmed in Carbondale or based in Carbondale, IL.
I've got to see this! I too returned to Cdale as an adult and it did feel a bit like regressing in some ways, but in my case it was for a bigger goal since it was for grad school. Sounds like a fun little comedy. Can't wait to see it.
The writer "Kris Rey" is a Carbondale graduate-

When is this going to be out?

At the bottom of the article, check out the 7 films made in S. Ill. After watching the Poor White Trash trailer (filmed in Murph, Herrin, Marion, etc.), I have to see that movie. 😀 😀
"The protagonist in this 2000 film dreams of going to Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The movie was shot in Benton, West Frankfort, Marion, Christopher, Orient, Du Quoin, Chester and Murphysboro. You can watch the very vulgar trailer on YouTube here."
The Gone Girl campground scene was filmed at Giant City. I knew In The Heat of the Night was filmed in Sparta, IL.

I've stayed in cabin 22 numerous times over the years. It does NOT have a full kitchen (none of the cabins do) and is not nearly as big!
If you're gonna reply to me in the forums, please quote what I wrote that you're replying to so I have a clue...thanks! 😀
Watched this over the weekend, thought it was meh, not sure I agree with the 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. Definitely wasn't filmed in Carbondale but there's a few exterior shots they definitley filmed in Carbondale like the Dairy Queen, PK's, Bank of Carbondale, ABC Liquor.

That is really sad to hear.

The working title "good morning Sunrise" got a better assistance from local municipalities, but they changed it to get more shock and awe on theatrical release.
I have a 2 second scene (uncredited extra, driving away from stoplight in Marion) in Poor White trash. Driving home from school & work I was wondering what they were doing infront of the waffle hut in Marion.
(I just finished a 3 day Facebook ban for talking about the movie by name, guess the facebook bots classify it is hate speech...)
