I would think MTE's would be popular this year. They are basically made for TV events with very few spectators in the stands. Unless the MTE is held in Hawaii where they always seem to pack the gym!
Yeah I guess it's possible the entire non-conference season could be little MTE's with empty gyms in places not affected by the virus. Whatever the case, this college basketball season is going to look very different if it even happens at all.
Agreed! I just hope they play the games!
I think SEMO stays on the schedule permanently. It's an easy road trip for both schools and cost effective for both schools. With Korn on the sidelines for SEMO it creates some added interest.
Hopefully we're done playing the little e for awhile. It certainly doesn't help The Dawgs strength of schedule.
I'd like to see get home and homes setup with Western Kentucky again.....but we have to get past the point of hurting their strength of schedule.
Unless SEMO drastically hurts our RPI and SoS I don't see either turning down the game, probably the cheapest road trip on their schedules. (St Louis, SIU-e, Murray state and Evansville would be next)
I am shocked with budgeting that SIU hasn't stacked SIUe and SLU on back to back games, one 3 day trip, play Saturday/Monday or Friday/Sunday. It is hard to turn around but it does get you in the groove for tournament play.
Ever since 2007 I wished SIU could pickup Butler, Austin Peay or Memphis on a regular rotation, However then we were too good then, now we aren't good enough.
Why "yuck"? I get that this doesn't seem like a sexy lineup of teams to play, but next year we have a really new team coming together. This seems like a great opportunity for some decent competition to get our guys into a flow and knock off a couple wins. Maybe this would hurt our SOS? But jumping straight to playing a top caliber team before they're ready would likely result in a big L which probably hurts us more, right?

It’s a winnable tournament but I wish they could have found something with a power 5 team. Would not even have to be a good one
Loyola got a home and home with DePaul
That is going to kill Harry Potter’s SOS

Northwestern? 🏀

I said power 5 team 😁

Long overdue and I really, really hope that Loyola kicks the snot out of DePaul.
Does anyone know specifically WHERE the Fall tournament will be played? I know it is in San Juan, PR but does anyone know the arena? I'm looking at seeing if it is feasible to go (again, if it is even held) and wanted to check out location and other activities to do in the area, i.e. Bacardi Factory. 🙂
Am still holding out hope in my lifetime that we get Belmont on the schedule. Just don’t think it is ever going to happen.
Belmont would be an excellent addition and should make sense for both schools. As for MVFC teams, I think both North Dakota State and South Dakota State would be good additions to the schedule.
Forget the schedule. ND State and SD State would both be good additions to the conference. I'm sure travel for sports like volleyball is the only thing keeping them out. The Sycamores just played the Bison in Terre Haute last season and we go to Fargo this season. MO State played them twice in the same season Lusk's final year. I feel like UNI and Drake played NDSU and SDSU in Minneapolis a couple of years ago as well.
Looks like we’re playing Eastern Washington this year.

He said it was in Carbondale. They were KenPom #124 last year and return a good amount of their minutes, this is a pretty nice get.

Love the Eastern Washington and Tulsa games on the schedule! ABSALUKI great gets to go with SLU, San Fran, Murray State and Southern Miss. Gosh, just typing this out and I'm just excited to see a legit non-conference schedule against quality mid-majors.
Do we know if SEMO is still on the schedule? Perfectly fine with them playing them as a season opener given they are a 45 minute drive from campus.

Yes, SEMO, Saint Louis, and Murray State are still on the schedule, at least for this year. They also have a road game against San Francisco and a home game against Southern Miss on the schedule and add the Eastern Washington and Tulsa games to this. Also the MTE in Puerto Rico with Air Force, Florida Atlantic, and Hofstra.
