Well that was surprising to say the least, after most all the talking heads were giving the title to the Zags in a big way. Baylor by far the better team tonight.
Ya know, one of these days a mid-major is gonna win this damn thing. Until then, all we're going to hear is how superior the Power 5 teams are ad nauseum.
Did anyone notice how Mark Few looked pretty much shell shocked from about 5 minutes left in the second half?

Well let's put this season behind us, burn all the cardboard fans "sitting" in the stands, toss the masks into the trash cans, bring back the pep band and the cheerleaders and start enjoying the game the right way. Looking forward to six months from now and seeing if Mullins and company can get something going to really cheer about.

You really have to respect the hell out of Gonzaga.
Mark Few could go anywhere in the country. Not only does he decline, he lets 'em talk straight to the hand! And the Zags have controlled the WCC for almost 25 years now and decide to stay with the likes of San Francisco and Pepperdine, instead of always chasing greener grass like the tomfoolery of today's clown world.

Couldn't agree more. And while I understand Aaron Cook's decision and wanted to see him experience a National Championship, I to admit a part of me felt betrayed by his lack of loyalty to Southern. Sure, he got to play a role this season, good for him. But was it just my imagination as I watched the Zag's play that he was still the new kid in the class trying to fit in. Did anybody else notice the timeout when one of the Zag starters (I think it was Timmer) ignored his high five? Maybe the other guy didn't see it, maybe it was just my imagination. But he gave up a for sure leadership role and all the PT he could handle to be a 9 min a game player. OK. Finished eating my sour grapes. But the precedent has been set. Let's hope that we don't start seeing an alarming trend of players looking for those greener pastures more and more. It's nothing more than a type of free agency.
@rabidsaluki Once more the big ten was overrated not only in the weekly polls but by the selection committee. The big ten got nine teams in, more the any other conference, and were seeded way to high. Eight of the teams were out after two games.

This BS is going to continue until the NATIONAL Collegiate Athletic Association has a true NATIONAL NCAA Basketball Tournament instead of an invitational tournament.

Yesufu to Kansas per Verbal commits
Speaking of former Drake standouts, Liam Robbins hit the transfer portal again yesterday
Yesufu to Kansas per Verbal commits
Bill Self opens his wallet once again. He can afford it too after that lifetime contract
Hefferman is such a stooge. I mean, good lord. It's good for Yesufu but bad for Drake University, Drake basketball, the Valley, and (the future of) college basketball. Act like a half respected sportswriter and not some 8 year old fan boy spooning it up for Bill Self. "oooohhhh woowwww! Kansas! One of the best programs evaaaa! Woooow! Congratulations!!!" Idiot.
(Yes people, the "transfer era" is bringing out the worst in me. Yes, it is.)

Sure didn't sit well with me at all. Didn't get all the adoration for a guy who was not a great player for us but maybe thought he was too good for us? And us with a good new coach who isn't a heat-seeking moisture missile of a human being? Would people have felt the same if Darren Brooks (a far, far better player) had split for greener pastures his last year? Give me Lance Jones any day of the week (unless he transfers!! LOL)
That said, I wanted the Zags to win because I think Mark Few is a heck of a guy and a heck of a coach and deserves it! (Don't feel bad that Bryce Drew and Baylor won it all though. That's another upstanding coach.) Just so glad it wasn't slimy Kansas, Duke, or UNC.

You forgot Kentucky.
March on triumphantly!
Speaking of former Salukis...Darius Beane is in the transfer portal again.
