GO DAWGS!
I don't think anyone is expecting Indiana to come to the Banterra Center but a non-conference schedule that isn't bottom 50 in the country like last year would be nice.

🤔 another insightful post. Eventually you are going to be right and the schedule will come out. I don't think most Saluki fans will be happy with it unless you like playing bad teams at home, and any good to decent opponents on the road.
Exactly !!! These posts remind me of the daily horoscope or fortune cookie.

So far the non conference may not be any better, and in fact may end up being weaker IF the three remaining games to be scheduled don’t add strength to the current known schedule.
Home
Little Rock 315
Tenn State 274
Alcorn State 262
Road
ST Louis 66
SEMO 250
This year’s MTE has UNLV with a NET of 97 beat them and we get Minnesota at 104 lose to UNLV and we get Cal Baptist at 222 of course these NET’s are based on last year’s numbers. Also remember that Tennessee State is a part of this MTE.
Last Year our best Road game was San Fran Net 26
Our MTE was arguably stronger last year.
Which Gave us our best win over Colorado their Net at Season’s end was 74 and we narrowly lost to Creighton who had a final Net of 51 we did lose to Northeastern who finished with a net of 251.
There is a chance that UNLV, ST Louis and Minnesota’s NET’s could be better this year considering the league’s they are in . However the rest of the schedule has little room for improvement considering the weak leagues those opponents are in.
I really think this will be Mullins best team and I hope the last three non conference games are worthy of this team. I fully expect SIU to compete for a regular season MVC title this Spring. I really want to see us dancing again.
It’s a massive failure if this OOC is not, at least, a slight improvement. No excuses.
Bow Em
Sorry looks like this was posted in another thread the conference schedule is going to be out before the non-conference schedule.
Wish this was a real game but sounds like we're playing a charity exhibition at Alabama on October 29th:

Wonder if this means no exhibition at home this year or just no secret scrimmage?
Well I'd rather play exhibitions against quality opponents so that one is nice to see; agree I wish it was actually on our schedule though.

This guy (mcfly) knows nothing. He is completely full of crap. Just like his recruiting "scoop" this summer, he didn't know anything then either. You throw out enough vague statements and eventually something is bound to be right.
The scheduling hasn’t really changed from the previous leadership of the basketball program. That’s concerning.
The excuses seem to be an institutional thing that has happened since 2006 through all of the institution. This is way beyond athletics. We need to act major if we ever want to be major.
You guys get too upset at McFlys. Dude is just having some fun. Living rent free in some heads lol.

“For the lulz” might have a better effect if we are winning more. We aren’t.

I don’t think he is . If so he isn’t doing it well. I just think the previous regime has lowered the expectations of the average SIU fan. I never thought that I would rather have Barbecue Barry doing our scheduling.

Could not agree more. From volleyball to baseball to basketball, we schedule a lot of wimps, mainly because we are just not as strong top to bottom, athletically speaking, as we were years ago - with some exceptions like football now that Lennon is gone. (And of course years ago we cancelled gymnastics, in which we were a perennial national power.)
Read about how Mark Few built up tiny Gonzaga into a national power. He acted major before they were major and eventually convinced some super talent to show up.
Basketball and baseball need to step up and improve those schedules.
