Great news!!
I have yet to figure out why some two-time transfers can be eligible and some cannot. Verplancken was a two-time transfer when he went to Weber State and was allowed to play last year. If someone can explain to me the procedure/process/formula used by the NCAA to determine who is immediately eligible and who is not, I would greatly appreciate it.
Verplancken went from a D2 to D1 his first time, so that probably doesn't count against the 2 time transfer rule. I think they are only counting D1 to D1 transfers.I have yet to figure out why some two-time transfers can be eligible and some cannot. Looks like Aaron Gray for Indiana State, who is in a similar situation to Hensley, is likely to play this weekend. If that's the case, wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hensley make his debut.

@siudawgs Have been anxiously awaiting his debut, so hope you are correct. This kid adds another dimension of size, athleticism, rebounding, and scoring ability to the lineup. Having another lefty is to our benefit, and to Mr. Hensley as most players are accustom to guarding righties.
The NCAA put out a statement of clarification today that will probably put a stop to most teams playing 2 time transfers that were previously ineligible. The NCAA said that any player previously ineligible that plays during the 14 day Federal stay order will lose the year of eligibility even if the stay order is overturned and they once again become ineligible. That means if you play in the one or two games your team plays during this 14 day stay order and it is overturned upon appeal you can no longer play this year AND you lose a year of eligibility. There is no way Mullins is going to take a chance on Helsley playing in 2 games and losing a year of eligibility and I doubt Indiana State takes that chance either.Looks like Aaron Gray for Indiana State, who is in a similar situation to Hensley, is likely to play this weekend. Does the NCAA suck donkey pud or what? They are just aholes that need to be disbanded completely.
@resaluki-88 While I understand Verplancken went from D2 to D1, in the past you were immediately eligible when you transferred down as in D1 to D2 or 3. There are many transfers who are two-time transfers who did not sit out. All you have to do is watch a game on TV and they will mention how this player previously played at this school and this school. Not all of these players can be grad transfers who I know are immediately eligible.
The rules are interpreted so differently it is hard to figure out why player A is eligible and player B is not. Throw in the redshirt year and the COVID year, plus maybe a player went to a prep school for a year, and you see why this is so confusing to figure out. It is also why you see 23 year old sophomores playing.
The real question…are they going to give eligibility back to the fall sport athletes that lost it (e.g. Noah Fenske).
A judge has to grant a motion for this to happen. I’m not holding my breath. https://www.kansas.com/sports/college/wichita-state/article283116913.html

Indiana State already announced today that Gray is playing for them today against Ball State (should be a really nice depth piece) so I’d imagine Hensley also debuts for the Dawgs.
Depending on how effective Hensley is, rotations are about to get very, very interesting, and even moreso when Ferguson returns. There’s a chance still to be that long, athletic team many of us hoped for and make that a real strength, if Mullins is willing to play bigger lineups than he tends to want to play.
I wonder if Mullins would play Hensley before the judge signs off on the motion. Sounds like Wichita will be adding one or two big pieces against us. Unbelievable, Wednesday it is announced you could play no penalty, Thursday if you play you lose eligibility, Friday no penalty. the NCAA sucks!!!!!A judge has to grant a motion for this to happen.
