This tweet from a week or two back from Stu Durando of the Post-Dispatch makes it sound like the game is still on.
It would be galling for SLU to play games with this overdue return game again.
@cowboydawg Yes. The Coach of Indiana claimed it was our Super Bowl!
I was near the top of the mid court upper bowl bleachers with my 11 year old son that night! There were several times during that night that I worried about the integrity of those bleachers with all the stomping and jumping going on up there!!
My son still talks about it!
It was a blast!
I bought season tickets the next year and have every year since!
Gotta say I’d quit f&$king around with SLU. They never want to play in Cdale and have been backing out for years. Hold their feet to the fire or F them .
Very much with you on the sentiment. The problem is SIU's home schedules without SLU have not been very good, this one-year Oklahoma State coup notwithstanding.
If SLU is not going to operate in good faith, and now with Murray no longer as a non-con option, they better find a way to schedule some home-and-homes with programs like Western Kentucky, Kent State, UAB, etc., or the computer metrics will not be kind.
computer metrics aren't kind to mid majors anymore with the new net system anyway

They're not kind to mid-majors that can't schedule and can only beat teams like Alcorn State by single digits. If you schedule well and beat up on the bad teams by a lot, you'll do fine in NET. That's what Drake and Bradley have been doing and Indiana State is starting to do.
Neither Drake or Bradley would have gotten at large bids, not even close. Drake and Bradley's RPI's were about 30 spots higher than their NET. Current metrics ARE truly not kind to mid majors. Mid majors have a much harder road to at large bids than at anytime in previous history. There is absolutely no arguing that.computer metrics aren't kind to mid majors anymore with the new net system anyway

It also hurts SIU specifically that we inherently, with our style of play, do not blow teams out. Bonus points are awarded when beating a team by 10pts and that is something this team hasn't done a lot of in the past. Perhaps it changes this year ?
Does anyone know how many mid majors got at large bids this year compared to previous years? I tried just finding a list of at large bids this year and haven't even been able to find that.
Only 3 mid majors got at large bids this year. Utah State, St Mary's and Boise State. For comparison the MVC got 3 at large bids all by itself in 2006.Does anyone know how many mid majors got at large bids this year compared to previous years? Nevada also got an at-large, so four bids for the Mountain West, which is clearly the midmajor league to envy at the moment, especially with San Diego State's run to the title game.
