@resaluki-88 He might stay. Him and the previous coaching staff did NOT see eye to eye, and they were very disrespectful to him.

If Sharp stays and the rest of the team transfers, SIU should erect a statue outside Banterra in his honor.

He didn't belong at this level. Hope he finds a nice D2 slot somewhere.

@foxman24

I never understood why he didn't get more playing time. I really liked what I saw from him. He stepped up and played well in several games earlier in the season when X was in foul trouble. Had he gotten more PT it would have helped keep X fresh.

I mean, he was pretty good in the Southland Conference the season before.

10.7 PPG, 85/54 AST/TO as a true freshman.

Not really sure what happened with him but he is more than capable of playing in the Valley.

I was very puzzled that they gave up on him entirely after he had an extended shooting slump. He was shooting lights out, rebounding and playing decent defense the first 1/4 of the season. He went from about 20 minutes a game to zero! Just speculating, but I would say the way it was handled added to his lack of confidence in his shooting. At 6'5" and with a pretty pure stroke I think he can definitely contribute at the MVC level.

Jovan was in graduate school all of this year. I just would say it's very unlikely he's back based on all the circumstances. And if that's the case I wouldn't expect to be in the "transfer portal." I'd expect him to go the way of Ben Harvey.

Now 982 transfers and counting... watching this thing roll over to 1,000 reminds me of when I'd watch the Labor Day Telethon as a kid, and while Jerry Lewis was doing some nutty bit, Ed McMahon would interrupt him...

ED - "Hold, on, Jerry... I've gotta cut you off here..."

JERRY - "...oh... YEAH!"

ED - ".. gimme that timpani!"

And then the band there would start playing, "buh, buh, BAAA, ba BAAA..." while the the big board rolled over to the next million bucks raised.

And yes, I would keep track of it in a notebook - the million mark that was just eclipsed, the time it happened so I could try and predict the next one...

Yep, I was a stat geek even back then.  😉

There was like 1800 last year.  Not surprised one bit that it is close to 1000.

Depends on what he's studying. For example, if he's working toward his MBA he could finish it this year for free if he stays on athletic scholarship.

With 25% of all the players in the portal, we should be able to recruit a team for next year!
