I hope every single player leaves. Send a message to the AD and his puppeteer, the chancellor.

So let me see if I understand this.  You seem to be more interested in revenge on the AD than you are wanting the Salukis to be successful in the near future.  Correct?

That’s an interesting take. By all means, if that’s what someone wants to do, I won’t stop them. There’s a difference between being unhappy with an administration decision (remember a big chunk of my old posts on the old boards?) and taking your ball and going home or to Chicago in this case.

I’m sure they will be welcomed with open arms on Flames ProBoard and up at Credit Union 1 Arena with open arms.

I’m rapidly losing patience

I don't think there's a rush yet, especially if they're going after coaches with teams that are still alive.  This would be a good thing.

I believe he meant he's losing patience with this idiocy on this board, not the coaching search.

It is very likely that a majority, if not virtually all, of the players enter the portal but there are two major things to consider:

1. They are free game to the next coach to recruit and come back

2. If we hire an existing coach, it is very likely that some of his players come with him.  For example, Morehead St lost the conference player of the year prior to the season (and they still won) and he is eligible to return next season.  They also have a really talented Freshmen in Eddie Ricks III

I do hope they give Spradlin a good look if he's willing to jump up. He's a young guy and having a good Freshmen follow would be a nice feather.

However, it would give me a bit of pause that he started under Calipari and his coaching tree is pretty abysmal.

As an aside this thread is going in circles about mediocrity and what not. The hard truth of the matter is, is that since 2010 the only public and still in the MVC schools to win Arch are Indiana State and UNI. The big schools and privates have dominated.

  • 2023 Drake
  • 2022 Loyola
  • 2021 Loyola
  • 2020 Bradley
  • 2019 Bradley
  • 2018 Loyola
  • 2017 Wichita
  • 2016 UNI
  • 2015 UNI
  • 2014 Wichita
  • 2013 Creighton
  • 2012 Creighton
  • 2011 Indiana St.

I think that list shows that although Bryan might have had glaring flaws he performed decently, whoever we get is going to need to maximize doing a lot with a little.

It seems we are pretty upset losing players from a coach whom couldn’t recruit.

I don’t like the crowd that says “this is what’s wrong with college sports”. This is how it should have been the entire time.  Why should a player be forced to stay at a school if the coach whom recruited them gets fired.

I really think Davis is the only guy on the roster I saw as irreplaceable. They’re all allowed to leave with no ill will from the fans because they signed up for Mullins. I was just really looking forward to Kennard as a senior. Felt like he was going to be the best all around winning-impact player we had since Tatum when it was all said and done.

Mullins navigation of the portal this past season was probably his undoing.

He replaced 2 Big Ten starters with 4 guys who have no business being on an MVC roster.

It was disasterous.

Maybe not 4, but I basically agree. He wasn't a great recruiter or game coach. YET.

Well aren't you a great alum, wishing disaster for your alma mater!

You and Saluki - 4 - life should get married and have a Redturd devil baby!  🤬

Well I think you're way overboard on Davis. He was a nice freshman but had a lot improving to do.

Kennard is young - he'll probably make a lot more mistakes before he grows up. Not the end of the world.

There are better players than him in the portal and our new coach can hopefully get a few.

I remember when I saw Domask in his first game at SIU.  I told a buddy of mine the next day that this kid was going to be special in a couple of years.  I was right.  Just didn't know he'd have to go to the Illini to do it 🙂

He was special HERE - 1st team All-MVC, MVC Freshman of the Year, 2 time 2nd team All-MVC.

The problem on this site is the people who have a legitimate point or a positive point of view that is different from a  select few.  there are those who have to be assholes I just don't understand the need to be disagreeable or dismissive if you have a different opinion that is fine as we all want the same thing and that is we want the program to be successful and I myself might of made a comment myself but to constantly be the opposite or negative just seems tiring

It def polarizing. There’s two dudes on twitter who are sharing coach k first five seasons as a reason we shouldn’t have gotten rid of Mullins. I can understand being upset but he’s not coach k
