It also brings the question, why should an athlete be more bound to their school than a regular student taking classes?
Because they’re getting paid. Pretty simple. Regular students aren’t.
Saw this posted somewhere else, but the topic is relevant.
Sounds like Banterra is going to be supporting SIU’s collective. This is great news.
I have to assume Southern is at a disadvantage in terms of local businesses who can fund NIL at a meaningful level, so this Banterra news is great to see.

Because they are getting paid, they can no longer be compared to, or grouped in with typical students. IMO, contractual obligations are a fair exchange for what student-athletes are being paid nowadays, and in the name of fairness for all parties involved, it'd be a decent start in structuring the current wild, wild west that is NIL.

Glad it is not my day-to-day to figure it out is all I'll say
SIU listed among VCU, James Madison, Richmond, Belmont, others who are recruiting Hampton transfer guard Jordan Nesbitt, who is from St. Louis.

I almost had him on my one's to watch but assumed he'd go high major! Would be a great get. Also played for SLU a year

He's not a good shooter at all. 35% in 2022-23 and 33.6% last year and both at a lower level than the MVC
