Maybe the relationship with the AD holds weight & WVU is a much better job than Iowa when it comes to NIL and history (Iowa’s NIL might have kept DeVries away), but I think McCollum takes Iowa

I thought Minnesota might be a landing spot for McCollum, but indications are that the Gophers are pursuing Nico Medved of Colorado State and formerly of Drake. The school and fans want somebody who not only has been successful but also has ties to Minnesota. Medved checks both boxes.
Also, I listened to an interview with McCollum that was taped when he still was with Northwest Missouri State in which he didn't seem any more comfortable with the portal and NIL than Nagy is. It will be interesting to see how he does when his former players move on. He's been a winner everywhere and I wouldn't bet against him adapting.
Stafford to the portal for Valpo

As frustrating at this program is sometimes, I’m thankful I’m not a Valpo or Evansville fan. They can’t hold on to anybody worth anything. Those programs will be permanently awful.

Powell may recruit well enough to make them just north of awful but, yeah, pretty dreary. Feel bad for Evansville fans.
Powell is way too good for Valpo. I know he coached there under Bryce Drew but it was always weird that's the job he left Gonzaga for. I imagine he's looking for a way out in the next few years.
Where does Southern fall in these rankingsAs frustrating at this program is sometimes, I’m thankful I’m not a Valpo or Evansville fan. They can’t hold on to anybody worth anything. Those programs will be permanently awful.

We're ahead of Valpo, Evansville, and UIC for sure and probably Indiana State without Josh Schertz. Outside of that..hard to pick SIU over anyone.
