Oh man, that’s a big one. Does he just have 1 year of eligibility remaining?

He went to Logan 1 year so if the JUCO eligibility rule stands he would technically have 2. However, every year is a new bidding war in the NIL era.

Not an exact science here but if you use Bart Tovik's Rostercast feature and add Pikaar and Stafford to the current roster, it takes SIU from #159 to #125.

I think that might be a tad bit optimistic but it would still put SIU behind Bradley, ISU Red, UNI, Belmont, Murray State, and Drake in the MVC

Stafford raises the floor. I would say there's now a chance the overall guardplay is very good AND the bigs are at least above-average, assuming one or two of those guys takes a step forward this year. That would be a nice combo.

Biggest concern to me is wing length/athleticism, as mentioned previously ... if that can somehow still be addressed, they'd go from competitive on paper to potentially very exciting.

I wonder if there is a good amount of money left for a good wing since most of the returners didn’t cost a ton or if they have already spent it all on the couple of recent signees.

Really excited about House + Stafford + Steffe as a backcourt nucleus. Pretty solid, IMO.

Throw in Walsh in the mix. That kid can flat out shoot.

It's got Pauliukonis contributing and Walsh not, which is a joke. I put very little stock in something like this but I guess it's interesting to look at.

I just don't see us going over 13 scholarships. We're at 13 right now. Maybe I'm wrong. If we do go over it would need to be an athletic wing with size.

I don’t see Hawkins on that list.

Just recalled that Stafford hung 30 on UIUC in Champaign in 2023. 😀

Anyone have any insight of whether there is a chance Elliot could come back?

Obviously Davis is now gone and with the schools interested in Dibba there is little chance of a reunion. But I also assume those two had a highest NIL deals last year. Elliot is under the radar with his injury and only has a year left. Surely we can pony up to pair with Stafford and House.

Super excited with the new gets! With that being said I don’t feel that this team is talented enough to win the valley. I know it is year two of the “rebuild”. Feel that we don’t need Webber and Moreno. Just need one or the other. Hawkins seems like a stretch to use a scholarship on. I get that mayo brings other things to the table than just actual ability but damn feel like we could really use two more guys on the roster to be the Moo role. Just feel like with the talent we have aquired our ceiling is 4 seed. But you never know, excited to see the team progress!

Transformed from a team that struggled with consistency shooting the 3 to one with the potential for it to be its greatest asset. But how will this group defend and rebound? I like the potential, but questions remain.

I certainly wouldn't mind Dibba announcing his return.
