I am mainly wondering around what time will the Oklahoma St. game be if anyone knows.
I'm certainly not privy to any inside information, however, my guesstimate would be around November 10th and/or early November.
Games that should be locked in:
vs Oklahoma State
vs Saint Louis
vs Southern Indiana
No confirmation but I’m guessing this series will continue:
vs Southeast Missouri
That would mean about 5 games to fill and an MTE
What is OK State's option to get out of that game? Their home loss to us may have cost them a bid this year.
I did though get to see SIU's name on the screen as a 'bad loss' several times during March.
With multiple better home games on the schedule this year, I’d like to see us take some good road games in the form of 1/1, 2/1, or buy games. Let’s really load up and see where the bricks fall. Especially if we are fortunate to keep our main guys.
I remain someone who thinks we should schedule appropriate to our team's ability. Had we scheduled "harder" 2 seasons ago, we might not have won 10 games. I 100% agree that WHEN we start winning consistently that we should face top competition but this team hasn't earned that to this point. That being said, if the right players stay and we get at least one more really talented, difference making, player in the portal then I'm all for an uber competitive schedule this year.
I agree with a better schedule but someone will have to want to play you and after beating OSU on the road last year i doubt to many upper schools will be beating down the door to play us

In most cases with Power 5 schools, they will pay a certain amount of money to be released from said contract. If OSU chooses to go this route, they would have to locate two opponents to fill those dates as this is a three year contract. IMO losing to a 23-10 SIU team at home was not the reason OSU was left out. They simply underperformed all season long, and were quite mediocre.

We'll never know for sure, but it might have been. They were very close to getting in, per the data that was released, and SIU's computer numbers were lukewarm, despite the record.

I am really hoping they can find a way to get this game on a Saturday or Sunday. Would be huge for the community.
Most certainly agree with you. A weekend game would be ideal, most preferably a Saturday as you would have a better student presence, and overall crowd. Sunday makes it difficult for many different reasons. All depends on meshing the two schools schedules.

Yeah, for sure if you flip our win at OSU to a loss they likely get in, but OSU also had Kansas beat on the road AT Kansas and then blew that game, so a win there would have pushed them over the edge too. But ultimately, OSU lost 14 other games besides the one to SIU, so there were plenty of other opportunities.
