Biggest surprises last year according to the poll was ISU-B and Belmont both finishing 2 spots higher than predicted.
Biggest disappointment was UNI finishing 3 spots lower than predicted.
Last years poll was pretty accurate hopefully this years poll is more inaccurate. 😎
I saw a stat this summer about roster turn over in the valley this year, I don't remember it exactly but the jist was these rosters have a ton of unknowns. Last year there were a lot of returning studs, made it easier to predict... This year there are a few but not nearly as many teams carrying over their top players. I'd say this years poll will be much more volatile.2022-2023 MVC preseason poll.

except UNI - that roster is about the same as last year..
no Phyfe but they picked up 6'11" Jr. center Hutson from Loyola and a 6' 8" All-State Fr. guard Wes Rubin from Chicago Simeon.
The coaching staff is identical with the addition of Phyfe as an assistant coach.
They are going to be very tough. I'll be surprised if they don't win the MVC.
Any reason why we aren't playing SEMO this year?

I believe that Jeff Jackson is pushing schools to not play Q4 games on the road, which would happen next year most likely. Maybe we schedule them less in the future for that reason?

Guessing Southern Indiana had something to do with that. Completely torpedoed SIU's season before it even got started. Indiana State lost to them too.
