There is talk of 4th year seniors petitioning the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility due to the shutdown of post season conference tournaments and March Madness. If the NCAA agrees, they would have to waive the 13 scholarship limit for basketball. UCONN coach Geno Auriemma said the NCAA should pick up the cost of covering the extra scholarships. Certainly an interesting topic for discussion.

As terrible of an “ending” as this is for many seniors whose teams were still alive, I just don’t see how it works to give seniors another year. It would really throw off the ecosystem of class balance, roster sizes, competitive balance, etc. It really sucks, but I think kids will have to move on.
Here's hoping that there is a next season.
The winter sports completed their season. Post-season is not an entitlement. Life isn't always fair.

Heard we've had over 60,000 deaths nationwide due to the flu since Oct '19. Why didn't we shut down everything over that?
Because we have a vaccine for this. Approximately 37% of the American population receives an annual flu shot. What is the death rate for a flu pandemic without vaccinating 37% of the population?
Also, why is 60,000 deaths an acceptable number?
Moderator. I am unable to post this in the "NCAA Tournament will be played.." thread. Feel free to move this to the appropriate thread. Thank you.
Off topic, but I wonder if SIU will get to host the MVC baseball tournament next year since it is cancelled this year
