I know many were very unhappy with the schedule, but these next few games are a blessing and exactly what this team needed. A chance to further heal. A chance to get Wonders, Cade, Rupert, etc MORE playing time. A chance to get everyone more comfortable and used to playing with each other in game situations. And finally a chance to build some momentum after a very rough stretch of games.
My only issue with the schedule is the non-D1 game. With two fewer non conference games to schedule there is no excuse for a non-D1 to be on the schedule.
After listening to Mullins pregame interview with Reis I didn't hear anything that would instill alot of confidence going into tonight but that is my humble opinion

Reluctantly, I see some merit in this post. But it is a failure that a senior-led team picked 3rd in the league needs a NET-killing stretch of Alcorn State-Lincoln-Chicago State-SEMO to (hopefully) get well.
Win by a lot and these can actually help out net. That’s the main thing to remember. Can’t be winning these games by 5 points.
With time on my hands, I looked up the starting 5 for St. Peters against Kentucky in the NCAA last year.
Clarence Rupert started at forward---but can rarely make the floor at SIU. Is there something dramatically wrong here.
Also interesting comment about one of our starters made in the InState fan board.

That one player is still living off shutting down AJ Green a few years ago for a few plays.
I'm mad at the coaching and recruiting over the actual players though.
I'll give tonights game 5 or 10 minutes. If by halfway through the first half i don't see any indication Mullins has learned something, im done. I love our guys, love Mullins, but if he can't learn to coach then im done. I'll just tune things out and wait for our next head coach to take over in a couple years.
His recruiting big guys will be done if he doesn't change how he uses them and i mean big time change. If you can't recruit bigs, then you can't win. If you can't win you can't be a successful coach. So, if he hasn't learned how to play with the bigs on the floor, then his days are numbered here.
Dawgs will rock n roll tonight.

Well, hall-e-fucking-lu-jah....looks like I'm going to the game!
Well holy shiite!!! Maybe i'll get to watch more than the first 10 minutes then. Maybe Mullins learned something. I'd be a very happy man if he did, i love Bryan and want him to succeed so bad, but i was losing faith in him quickly.
Still though, this is a step, but unless Rupert and Hornecker actually play more than 8 minutes, its still only a very small step.
Hornecker first player off the bench for Rupert
Figures... we bitch and bitch about wanting Rupert to play more, and he finally gets a start, and he has three turnovers no points and no boards so far in what has been the worst ive seen him look all year. lol
