Yes, this is what I call whining. And it is tedious as hell. As I have pointed out before, very wife-like. But it it makes you feel better, have at it. I’m sure all the whiners would absolutely excel as D1 basketball coaches. PS- my wife bitches a whole lot less than this.Memo to the perpetual whiners: don’t pop all your cyanide capsules tonight, Drake fans want some also.
If this is what you call whining, I take it you pay attention to fan comments nowhere else in sports. This is super tame stuff.
Plenty of room for legitimate, constructive criticism here when you barely beat Alcorn State. Not to mention this isn’t the type of team that can afford to play down to their competition.
The funny part is I’m not even complaining all that much myself. This game could have been better, sure, but I am not wanting to tell people who have different opinions to shut up either.
As far as anyone goes being coaches here, that’s irrelevant. To think anyone that hasn’t done a certain job or activity can’t be critical of the performance of said activity, takes people to a very elitist and dangerous place.
Mullins, Domask, Newton with the media:
Glad we won, I'm really glad coach changed the rotations, I think we lose if he didn't. I still think we can be a decent team, There's some talent there it's up to coach to find those magic combinations, and get the best players playing consistent minutes, tonight was a start, I really want to see CH play more, could be a game changer this season
Oh BTW, SLU has lost 2 straight, to Iona, and Boise state, man I wish we could have beaten them, not sure they are as good as advertised

Adolph had a whole country of people who didn't whine.
That is the funniest and wittiest thing I have read tonight. Seriously... That is good. I am still laughing like ten minutes later. So true. I love reading this board after a win, even a poor mans win. Hahah that is a good one. On a serious note the ref that called the flop on Lance should be tar and feathered, flogged, and well, maybe fired. I am definitely going to mix something to make me puke to celebrate Drake's loss because I do not like them. God help any coach who makes decisions based upon the whims of fans on a message board. Sorry. We spoke and Bryan listened. Rupert over D'Amico at the 5-spot. Now, please for the love of God can you give us someone other than Trent Brown at the 3-spot??

Kudos to Bryan for switching things up -- should pay off in the long run -- but I suspect his philosophy is, "If you listen to the fans, you wind up sitting with them." Of course, I recall that either Gottfried or Van Winkle (not sure which) made that comment, and both wound up "sitting with the fans" anyway.
@dawgbytes then go somewhere else, dude. It’s a college basketball message board. This isn’t Cheer Camp.

The coach didn’t make any decisions because of what was said on a fan board. The coach made player personnel decisions to improve the teams chance to win. It just so happens the fans were seeing it before there was a reaction/adjustment by the coach.
Unfortunately, it took giving up 46 points in the paint and a home loss to Indiana State, but Bryan made the right move.
I would still like to see more of Hornecker. Thought he played pretty well. Although it’s hard to argue the choice to go with Domask, D’Amico, and Rupert for the majority of the stretch run. I think that combo playing together at the 3/4/5 is when we looked our best in the second half.

I can totally understand wanting this forum to find a middle ground. I want that to happen.
The problem here is the second the middle ground is found, certain people would then accuse this forum of being too negative again.
SIU has gone 14 seasons without sniffing a postseason tournament and it'll be 15 after this season. And this is year 4 of a coaching staff and I'm having less fun than I did in year 1. Don't get why you want all positivity when they have to scape by Alcorn State just to win.
