SIU gets the winner of Missouri State/UIC late Friday Night.
Hopefully we get a good Saluki turnout with the late game on Friday.
SIU vs Missouri State (2-0):
SIU won the first meeting 61-57 in Springfield on January 21st. Domask, Jones, Johnson, and Newton all scored in double figures. JD Muila added 8 rebounds and 7 points off the bench. Jonathan Mogbo led all players in scorers with 14 and added 11 rebounds. SIU led by as much as 11 with 3:09 left in the game.

Marcus Domask had 12 points and 7 assists. Donovan Clay didn't play in this one for Missouri State. Alston Mason and Chance Moore both led the Bears in scoring with 14 points. SIU Game Notes
I hate to see the Gargoyles win the MVC and I'd rather play them than Drake. Don't think the Gargoyles can beat us three times.
If SIU, Drake, and Bradley win their first game, we play the #2 seed - hope that's the Gargoyles.

Mo St. has realized turned it on down the stretch…we beat them twice, but that will not be an easy game. We’ve shown an inability to pull away from UIC for some reason so either opponent could give us fits. Here’s hoping they have double OT game.

In reality, SIU would probably only dominate Evansville and, maybe, Valpo. But............despite that and despite many of the games this season being closer than any of us would like, or than my heart could take, we did win 14 games in the Valley. I think SIU finished exactly where they should have. In my opinion, Drake and Bradley are clearly better than SIU but they are the only 2 that are. That being said, *IF* Jones plays well, if we limit TO's and shoot the ball well from deep, this team can beat ANYONE in this conference on a neutral court. The only thing I know for a fact is that we absolutely cannot win against anyone on Saturday if we don't win Friday. LOL
I'm sure I'll dive more into potential matchups later in the week, but for now I will just say this feels like a really important Arch Madness for the program. Arch Madness always is a big deal, but this year ... with Domask and Jones as seniors and not having advanced to Saturday so far under Mullins ... feels weighty. No pressure, guys. 😀
Don't like being on Drake's half of the bracket, but for now, the focus has to be on winning a Friday game for the first time in too-damn-long. Hopefully we see a large and helpful Saluki fan turnout on Friday night.

When you visit our fair city: Saturday there is zero parking available ALL DAY any where near the soccer venue and that includes the Arch Madness venue. Just be warned. No parking all day long. Second, if you have not been downtown for a while it is very dangerous. Don't walk into the street until you are certain there are no cars doing 60-90 MPH. It happens frequently! Read todays Post-Dispatch to see the result. Don't leave ANYTHING visible in your car. The later it gets downtown the more likely really serious crime will occur. Be warned that you, if you are involved in an accident, will encounter someone with no insurance, no drivers license, no license plates and perhaps will be armed. You have a high probability of being T-boned by a stolen car. It is very sad the demise of this once great city. It is in a "doom loop" where failing leadership gets elected over and over. Four teens were slaughtered this weekend near SLU. Be careful.
Thanks for the heads up, so much for St. Louis being a safe place.

Over dramatic much! I have lived in the St Louis suburbs for 22 years and this is not my take. I go to about 15 cardinal games a year, the symphony, art museum, downtown restaurants, blues games, etc. and am downtown frequently. You have to be aware, but you are being way overdramatic. Also, the MLS game is at night. There will be parking during the day. Good advice on not leaving visible things in your car. When you visit our fair city: Saturday there is zero parking available ALL DAY any where near the soccer venue and that includes the Arch Madness venue. park for free at the casino queen and take the 5 minute metrolink ride. yes, you will put your life in danger for a few minutes, but life is as gamble. plus, if you like people watching at the mall, this is a step up.
Great advise Bobber! Also, there is a ton of parking near Enterprise. Plenty for both MVC tourney and Saturday nights MLS game. By the way, the MLS stadium only holds 22k. There is a garage attached to enterprise, huge multiple lots surrounding union station, a huge parking garage across the street from Enterprise attached to the hotel in the old Emerson building, a garage at the corner of Tucker and Clark, a lot directly across from Enterprise in front of the city hall building, public parking and lots off market street near enterprise, multiple lots on Clark near Enterprise and of course a huge lot and parking garages at ballpark village a 10 minute walk up Clark from Enterprise and home of the MVC fan hangout. There will be no shortage of parking any day of the tournament. FYI - there are only a total of about 400 tickets left on the Ticketmaster website for our night session game Friday night. Even less available for the day session earlier Friday. I advise anyone planning on going who doesn't already have tickets to get on the site and gobble them up asap. Of course, there will be tickets available on stubhub and the secondary sites, but it's hard to know what they will be going for. Buying tickets from fans of teams who get knocked out will be a little harder this year due to almost all the tickets being sold electronically, resulting in folks having the tickets on their phones instead of holding paper tickets. Let's make it an SIU home game crowd!!!!

The Bobber is right. The MetroLink is a good option from Illinois so you don't have to park downtown. The easiest stations to get to would be either the Fairview Heights station at the intersection of Hwy. 157 and 161 or at the station on the east end of Southwestern Illinois College. It's $5 round-trip.
