When was the last team SIU played on Saturday in the tourney?
They played (and lost) to Illinois State back to back years in 2017 and 2018
Seems like 1977.
The Valley was really bad those two years. SIU basically had a free ride to Saturday. These were the first years post-Wichita
Seems like a 20 point deficit.
DeVries is so damn good. Another reminder that the few players leaving the Valley doesn't mean SIU just jumps to the top. Sturtz is back too.
Clear the bench.
Please, please, please send us a quality PG next season. Otherwise, we're looking at more of the same next year.
Pack it up boys... this one's just about done. Drake pretty much getting whatever shots they want now, and if you can't play defense OR offense... makes it kinda hard to win games.
Gonna have to come back thru the loser's bracket.
A disappointing end to a disappointing season. and if we don't find a point guard next year I'm afraid it will be more of the same

must be able to score
I'm been at peace with this year being over awhile ago but it's really bad the lack of improvements from a lot of players. I'll be excited once next year starts but it's really disappointing that my expectations won't be as high as I wanted.
Well the bad news is we got our butts handed to us, the good news is that my MVC tournament bracket is still perfect through 2 days.
Point guard will help but it's the same ole, same ole.
Ultimately disappointed in lack of fundamental play. This is what concerns me the most.
Oh well, next season is just a short nine months. Hope they get better.
March on triumphantly!
Dawgs now 15-22 inside the arc (68 percent) and 3-23 from outside (13 percent). I don't know if we'd had a greater disparity this year than this.
Drake's much more energetic and making shots they missed 1st half. Overall, they just have more talent than us. Remember they were expected to win the MVC. This half they look like the best team in the MVC.
