Not sure what you expect, SIU has been boring and Loyola is dominating

I got what I asked for.  While there may have been a few spurts, for the most part this team gave effort and that is all you could have expected.  Hopefully there are some very athletic, strong and long players yet to be named that will be joining this team in the offseason.

If they'd just made half their threes.... geez, they STILL lose by 9 points.  I didn't expect Loyola to be that hot from three, but you add that to the usual rebounding domination, and there was no way to get a win here.

If Loyola shoots that well in the NCAA tourney, along with their top-ranked defense, they're gonna be one tough out.

D'Avanzo coming back next year won't take up a scholarship, don't see why you wouldn't bring him back if he wants to be back.  As we found out this year, the more depth the better.

Doesn’t take up a scholarship but you still have to pay tuition, room and board. No small amount for SIU.

Vanz 18 pts, 5 rbs, 2 stls in only 27 minutes

Banks 12 pts, 6 rbs, 3 stls, 3 assists in 37 minutes

tough game for Trent, Kyler, and Steven!

Bryan Mullins: Can't wait until next year. I'm excited about this group!

Yeah, we needed a miracle to win today, let's be honest. The future looks bright, can't wait till next year.

Good luck and congrats to Loyola, they're a very good team.

Have to say though, Moser is too dramatic and over carbonated on the sidelines. Take a chill pill Magill.

March on triumphantly!

Holy damn. Cross got garbage time but scholarship Butler did not?

Yeah, he's not coming back next year.

Still trying to figure out that whole situation. I thought he was a perimeter defender? How underdeveloped, in comparison to your teammates, must he be to not get any PT on a Mullins team? Is Long just schooling him in scrimmages?

Gotcha. I'm at work and the box score didn't have him listed.

Next season: I'll bet DB's 3 improves the way Jones improved his for this year. Banks at pg,Jones at sg will be a terrific duo.

It was a given that Loyola was going to run SIU out of the tournament after last nights win against Bradley. You can tell within the first 10 seconds of this game that they were gassed and the lack of depth due to injuries doomed them.

What I did like is that they kept playing through the end and didn't just roll over after every missed shot or 3 pointer made by the Ramblers.

Future is still bright for this team even if a large portion of seniors come back next year for the top half teams.

team needs some length added for some rim protection next year. it would make a world of difference at the defensive end.  anyway, no harm in anything this season. build on it and take a leap forward next year!
