Wardle and Jacobson get a bit of a leash because they've actually won in the past. Mullins had two Big Ten starters on his team for 4 years and didn't win anything.
To add some perspective :
Mullins enters year 5 as a Head Coach. 23-24 record ???
Jacobson enters year 18 as UNI Head Coach. Yr. 5 @UNI 20-14 5TH PL MVC
Wardle enters year 14 as Head Coach. Yr. 5 @ WGB 24-9 12-4 2ND PL Horizon NIT Rd 1
SIU (Kill) hired the guy most people wanted, including myself, to lead this once proud program, and bring it back to relevance. Mullins had zero prior experience as a Head Coach. Some folks on the prior message board felt that Mullins, and his defense propelled the Loyola Ramblers to the Final Four. Some thought it was his recruiting. As some have pointed out, he's an easy person to cheer for. He does not make excuses, sell sauce, or throw players under the bus. IMO, he is still learning, and still has much to learn. Some folks have mentioned that he seems to be stubborn, and not willing to change or adapt. (like going zone when the opponent is quicker) or applying full ct. pressure occasionally, or not starting/playing people 30 minutes who are certainly overmatched. Dad's AAU connection has resulted in very little. 4-2 and 0-1 at this juncture. 25 games left. A lot can happen. Let's hope for the better.
GO DAWGS!!!
Dalton Banks with 19 points in the Redturds win at UIC
I guess after the results of tonight's games I guess Wardle and Jacobsen got out coached in their losses like I have said in other threads last night was disappointing but not season ending things happen in college basketball there are always suprising results as long as it is not a trend no reason to panic

Ben's seat has to at least be lukewarm right now though given all the underachieving they've done the last 7 years.
No way is Jacobsen's seat warm at this point IMO. Saw some of that UNI game - they looked lousy. Surprised me. For some reason, Born only played 20 minutes. Belmont shot 50% and killed UNI on the boards.
Murray has several starters back. They're athletic and looked good. Gonna be hard to beat at home.
Tyson had 22 for Belmont. They're improving.
Per a UNI fan on MVCfans, Born is battling a hip flexor injury. Seems legit: that's the sort of thing that could really mess up someone's game.
(Inflammatory political snark)

Born is hurt, has been all season. He is no where near 100%, that is why he has been struggling so much.
Bradley is down 20 at halftime at home to the Trees
I guess conference season is the end of Bradley looking good this year. hahaBradley is down 20 at halftime at home to the Trees
I know many of us were pretty upset with how we played Tuesday, but it could turn out that the trees are just that good. After all, their only loss so far is at Alabama.
Evansville beats UNI in OT at home. UNI drops to 2-6

That’s insane. I wrote off Ragland after last season. Looks like that was a mistake.

Born played most of the game, had 17 pts, and they still lost.
NET Rankings are out!
Indiana State: 22
UIC: 52
Drake: 56
SIU: 80
Bradley: 90
Evansville: 92
Missouri State: 97
Belmont: 151
Illinois State: 161
UNI: 212
Murray: 215
Valpo: 291
Excellant job by the MVC so far very well could be multi bid with the Q1 opportunities teams will have.
NET rankings are always wild early on because there’s no preseason bias like KenPom and other metrics. The MVC set themselves up really well with a good non-con so far. SIU blowing the doors off teams instead of playing close games with the Alcorn States of the world really helps them.
@salukiworld as frustrating as it was, the fact that SIU only has 1 clunker, and it was to a conference team, is a really big help for the conference. It’s certainly a part of ISU being at 22
Saint Louis up 14 on Drake in the 1st half. SLU and Jimerson look like a motivated team after Saturday
41-25 slu over drake at half. Drake was sloppy with passes and totally looked out of sorts on offense. Defense sucked too.
I wouldn't want to be the team playing Saint Louis after a 38 point blowout, they were always going to put up a good fight tonight. No excuse for losing to that team though. Tucker had a rough first half
